@jeffchan1901, RHB is cheap in term of valuation...but the stock hardly moves.
I bought it at 4.60 in September 2020, not much profit.
CIMB n Maybank would have been a better buy at that time.
May be it's because it's a mid cap, when institution buy, they gave priority to big cap like MBB and CIMB.

If you buy some other so call recovery stock....if you enter wrong time, you might suffer paper loss as high as RM1 at current price......

Since pandemic till now, at any time, any price you enter and hold till now, you still make good money....why Tiger investors not happy ?? :)

Share price move so strong probably because the "all in" cut loss liao haha :p

Today, Banks are Green Green.....color which is good for the eyes :)

As @linges mentioned, most people started new by punting speculative high beta stocks.....
....and after got burnt a few times and as they get older, they will slowly switch to lower beta blue chips....
....that's where rich uncles and aunties park their money :)

Before the 1Q report came out, one expert said, banks are in dilemma, if economy is good profit growth is limited, if economy no good, profit will be affected....
....but after all companies reported, Banks results were the most impressive....haha :)

Yes I started buying at 3.50....and it dropped to below 3...
...waited for it to drop more but it stayed around 3 very briefly then rebounded....like now, it stayed at 4.80 only very briefly.

At 30/70, brother jeffchan is very cash rich, plenty of bullets to top up when there's sharp correction. A very safe investment strategy.
Investor who has this kind of discipline and patience will most likely not loose money in the market.

You will benefit only if you Q to sell during pre close for stocks that surge during that period, if you didn't sell, then it's only see song song for one day only :)

Yes, no major move today despite QWD, pre close volume was even lower than 31-5-23.
.....I guess it will trade in tight range in near future....typical of dividend stock.

This was my No.1 buy in 2020....sold 80% in late 2021 at around 5 and switched to Maybank at about 8
....will now try to buy back the 80%....not swiching from Maybank....will use fund from my fixed income investment....the yield now from this octopus should be higher than my fixed income

@speakup, that time when I bought, the sentiment was very weak and institutional selling was heavy, so, I was waiting to see if it goes lower to slowly accummulate.
...but now that market sentiment has improve a little, i will buy irrespective of price at current level, after it has stabilized for a while.....anything below 5.30 is still considered cheap for investment....and not for trading...haha...just my 2 sen :)

After seeing al the 1Q report and how the stocks performed, I think institution funds want to see the "numbers" and not how good a company perceived to be...
...that's my 2 sen view.
