I am looking into PAA's detailed earning data.
One important finding is: Philippine AirAsia going to be highly profitable, Optimistically could reach 900mil net profit.

AmateurPlayer, that "48% fall in lease income" show that the reporter didn't read AA's QR thoroughly 1 year ago. Under note 10 of 4Q15 QR, there is a statement: "Included in aircraft operating lease income in the current quarter is maintenance service revenue which was not recognised previously due to uncertainty in the recoverability of the amount. With the improve clarity on the collectability of the amount, Management has decided to recognise the maintenance service revenue in the current quarter."
By comparing to previous lease income, we would found that there is 400 mil one-off recognition of previous impairment.

I doubt u r contrarian. How can One be a contrarian when he fall into same mindset with market.
It's u having delusion instead of Cruger

Contrakaki, unfortunately AirAsia the Cruger's stock earn money in other currencies as well. Don't forget in this case AA earning in foreign currencies also translate into higher income

I know it sound insane, but frankly speaking, I like this AAX's QR, it almost as close as my all time favorite - AirAsia's 3Q15 result.

Batu88, same for me, AA is more stable business.

Cruger, don't agree on AAX cash flow increase a lot. It actually increase tremendously.
Op cash from -13 to 340 mil. That mean this business start to make actual money by it own.
Investing cash there is no 300 mil one-off refund of aircraft deposit.
Financing cash there isn't proceed from right issue of 390mil and borrowing of 390 mil. Their repayment last year is actually paid these 2 items.
AAX now is really grown up and no longer so rely on papa shareholders

AP, 1b from TFKM and 4.4b from AAC are cash, not actually a profit, so you can't just add it that way. For AAC, if you want to add it as income item, you got to remove the cost from it. Not whole 4.4b exclusive of cost.

Even MAHB also shall not be blamed for this case, only NK.

I walked to AirAsia's check-in kiosk and there is no option for me to complaint, such a poor service. Wonder whether MAS will accept my complaint and rush me to hospital.
Luckily I don't have a brother call Kim Jong-Un, else i must be dead due to a poisonous ant.

AirAsia India market share is 3% in January 2017, last year was 2.3%.
PLF for Jan 2017 is 87.4%.
Basically every airline is retaining their market share, except market leader IndiGO.

oh yeah, TAA started since last quarter to buy over their aircrafts financially leased from MAA, there would be some earning there (not in term of forex) too.

Note 27:
realized : (1,785)
unrealized : (78,354)
FFEC : 10,208
cash flow hedge : 67,234
The first 2 are the basic items, while next 2 are the hedging gain/loss, which may come as surprise. AirAsia take delivery of 3 A320neo in 4Q16, so they would earn some cash flow hedge.
2017-02-17 08:02 | Report Abuse
Cruger, there are many item form the forex gain/loss, and what ICON mentioned is the basic item of it. There would be other items that change the final outcome. You could look at the detailed FOrex loss table, you will see that basic item there
2017-02-16 17:15 | Report Abuse
Agree with ICON, that about 300 mil forex loss will definitely be there, the question is only whether there will be some hedge gain or other forex gain.

AIRASIA Japan plans to make its second attempt to take off in Japan’s low-cost carrier market by the middle of this year with an announcement expected to be made by the end of this month. AirAsia co-founder and AirAsia X group chief executive officer (CEO) Datuk Kamarudin Meranun said the airline was still waiting for the approval from the Japanese regulators. “We obviously want to start it soon because we have put two aircraft here. But you have to go through all the regulatory requirements. The only one left now is the test flight. It’s just a question of time,” he said at a press conference with Malaysian media after the launch of AirAsia X Bhd’s route to Honolulu in Hawaii, here, yesterday.

my understanding about flight crews' salaries also the same, base salaries is really little.
2017-02-01 22:17 | Report Abuse
pilot's salary is higher, but not too significant as pilot number is probably much lesser than FA.

Note that basic salary is just merely RM1000 for Junior FA.

ignissimia, the 3~6 months is probably just base salary, not including flight allowance.
So I think it would be somewhere around 350mil
2017-02-01 20:43 | Report Abuse
ignissimia, you are right~
TAA's average sector length is 1033 for 3Q16, PLF is higher then, so they could cover it with 150bahts.
However, in conservative case, when PLF drop, that 150 bahts would not be sufficient to cover it.
Probably i am too cautios

Thailand charge 4baht per 1 liter jet fuel start from today.
TAA will charge additional 150 baht to each passenger.
Despite that, TAA will lose some money for this jet fuel excise for all flight travel longer than 1000km. (Assume PLF 80% and 180 seat per aircraft.)

In term of core operating revenue, it definitely will better than 4Q15, but as there is a re-recognition of 400 mil previous impairment of aircraft leasing income in 4Q15, so it will be quite hard to break this.

cruger, can i say cheated by TF? haha.
He mentioned in some interview that PLF is 92~93%.
4Q16 wouldn't surpass 4Q15, unless there is a surprise in IAA's account due to tax break from capital investments.

U make a statement, u must prepared to defend it.
Nobody could stop you from say something, but when u say something without rationale, then don't say others don't listen to you.
Balanced views? This is nothing to do with it, just people asking for supporting details of statements. A view without any basic is just nonsense.
