JCY will not win NOTION. JCY also small player with little cash. TYK Capital(cash rich) has offered to acquire the entire business and privatize Eng Teknologi. Adv Capital buying NOTION Vtec HDD division only. NOTION Vtec Camera & Auto Co. not included.

Hard disk drive manufacturer NOTION VTEC BHD [] seeks to dispose of its 70% stake in Swiss Impression Sdn Bhd, which is involved in the tool design for consumer electronic devices.

The company said on Wednesday, Sept 14 it was looking to dispose of the subsidiary due to the uncertain outlook of the latter's financial position and the current challenging environment for the industry.

Swiss Impression is involved in the design of tooling and volume manufacturing of high precision appearance parts using progressive die stamping for digital cameras, MP3 players and other consumer electronic devices.

Notion VTec appointed Ferrier Hodgson MH Sdn Bhd of Monteiro & Heng Chambers to assist in the proposed disposal.

It added the disposal will not have any effect on shareholder interest, earnings per share, net assets per share or gearing.

Notion VTec Berhad (the "Company") - Article in The Edge Financial Daily dated today with heading "Private Equity Eyes Notion Again?"
In response to the article in The Edge Financial Daily on 11 April 2011 with heading "Private Equity Eyes Notion Again?", our Board of Directors wishes to announce that we have been informed by the controlling shareholders of the Company that they have been approached by a party indicating their intention to acquire the entire business/equity interests in the Company. However, neither the controlling shareholders nor the Company has received any definitive proposal. Negotiations are still on-going and the Company will make the necessary announcement should there be any matter that requires an immediate disclosure.
