Even cost become cheaper due to depreciation of RM also can't help to retain those MNCs, something to think deep.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In July, it was reported that American hard disk maker Seagate Technology Plc and computer data storage firm Western Digital Corp (WD), would be relocating the bulk of their operations to Thailand. Seagate's Penang facility is said to have over 3,000 Malaysian staff, while WD was expected to lay off 400 Malaysian staff and 800 foreign workers from its Penang manufacturing site.
Warrant on line tomorrow ... u still expect up kah ? Only way turn around is for mgmt come out with statement on production line forward view. The previous annual report on forward demand appears to be tipu2 oledi.
i just hope those retrenched staff find a job soon. Not easy to find work outside nowsday. I have friends that has been laid off since January and still not securing job.
Very sad for the worker, however through retrenchment only will they cut their bottomline cost.. which in turns lead to leaner operations and lower cost and higher profit.
Best case - Maybe the company became more technologically efficient in production.
Worst case - The world economy may have reached the point of maturity where demands stalling and declining. So cut cost to maintain profit compromising product quality.
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
