New civil servants no more pensionable. Gov controls its finances.




KAJANG, Jan 24 — The recruitment of new civil servants on a contract basis is only done for a short period before the Cabinet approves the new policy of non-pensionable permanent employment, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said.

Civil servant intake and pension is a ticking time bomb.
Good decision although it was late.
Reducing the number of civil servants should be priority since most work can be automated and be done online.
