How are you going to determine if car owner is T15 or not? By engine capacity? By IC linked to Income Tax? By IC linked to EPF? What about those without Income Tax or EPF account? Small business and pensioners have neither accounts.

Easiest way to subsidize is to give cash when they renew their road tax. rm 360 for 1500 CC and below, motorcycle rm 100. That is to say rm 30 per month for car less than 1500 CC (assuming monthly petrol consumption is rm 300), Rm 10 per month for motorcycle (unlikely motorcycle use rm 100 a month).

Very unlikely T15 using small car with 1500 CC or below. Jatuh standard mah.......

To devise a new system to fix subsidy problem is to enrich certain crony providing that system. Initial capital outlay and maintenance fees will be more than actual payment to the target subsidy group.

Penny wise, pound foolish.

Yes. One major concern is the initial capital outlay and maintenance fees associated with setting up the new subsidy mechanism. To make this targeted approach feasible, the government may need to invest heavily in technology, infrastructure, and administrative systems to ensure that only the right recipients receive subsidies. These systems often come with high implementation and operational costs, which some argue could end up being more expensive than the subsidies themselves.

Better annouce now- be transparent about these. Then to do and spend public fund, then hope for no leak of document

If the targeted subsidy system leads to higher-than-expected operational costs and fails to provide significant relief to the target groups, it could provoke public discontent. The government could face criticism for not only failing to curb fuel prices effectively but also for increasing inefficiency through crony-driven practices.

?

The main costs are yearly maintenance feesfor system updated and system integrity

Rafizi said while better performing states claimed their economic engines deserved greater financial support, less-developed states argued that they needed more investment to catch up after years of being left behind.

“If we were to go by a hard and fast rule… meaning, if states expect allocations based on GDP, I think the federation will break,” he said.
