Hopefully there will be a spill over to Parit Buntar. Perak is really left out from the development and losing population to Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang and Singapore.

Line of military communication between US and China may severe any time. What is that to have guardrail if US keep on provocation? Everything will go back a square one.

12. Share Buy-backs are weakening the balance-sheets even of the most cash-rich firms.
Is Parkson really cash rich? How about 89.39m interest paid for 9 months on 2.49 billion borrowings? Since 2008, WC already used up 2.1 billion to buy back Parkson shares, otherwise he could have saved 75m on interest payment for 9 months.
13. Parkson share buy-back has become a kind of corporate cocaine that induces a temporary feeling of invincibility but masks weakness and vacuity. It has become a norm for any punter to buy by 4.30pm, then park to sell at 4.49pm. WC is going to pay these punters 'toll' to push up closing price everyday. He cannot stabilize Parkson share price with such tactic, but just draining the valuable cash.
Worst still it become clear for WC to commit suicide by drinking sea water in the ocean to quench thirst (飲鳩止渴).
Sooner or later Parkson is going to bleed to death.
14. Please don't tell me WC cannot understand the logical reasoning above. To me, he is paying peanuts to get monkeys to run his business empire -- from the very top to the sales personnel.
Don't believe, just go to any Parkson outlet to see what are the sales girls doing......
NOTE:
WC SBB amounts to about rm 2.1 billion, starting from around rm 6.70 to about rm 1.60. Now all the cash gone.
Top Glove start buy back its own share at around rm 8.00
Will the company spend spend rm 2 billion to prop up its share price?
Paid up capital in terms of number of shares outstanding is much bigger than Parkson. Can amount (say rm 2 billion) enough to stop its price to drift lower and lower each day?
How much Tan Sri Glove has bought back with SBB?
And the share price still falling?

Will govt ban its glove from exporting?
Will Donald Duck institute penalty on Top Glove for exporting contaminated glove supposed to be used by medical staff as PPE?

What is the difference when come to SBB Parkson vs Top Glove?
Parkson started SBB from 6.70 (01.04.2008) all the way to 0.615 (31.01.2017) for whopping rm 2.1 billion.
Top Glove started SBB from 8.00 (04.09.2020) to 6.70 (02.12.2020) with lowest price paid 6.12 (10.09.2020).
Both companies were buying back everyday non-stop, and prices still drifting downwards non-stop.
Why SBB?
Why even with non-stop SBB (created artificial demand) but sellers keep coming?
Who are the sellers?
Why supplies exceed demands?
Simple logic of supply/demand equilibrium and you need not be an economist to understand that!
Note: Parkson has since sold all treasury shares at huge loses even at low of 19 sen. https://klse.i3investor.com/servlets/stk/annshrtxn/5657.jsp
Tan Sri Glove still holding its Treasury Shares. No more SBB. No more buying by major shareholders. With earning 0.1 sen, at PE 10, TP is only good at 10 sen. This is how sifu valued TP share price when earning was at RM 1.5 per share.

Nusa Cemerlang Industrial Park still has 193 acres of land undeveloped as per 2023 Annual Report, with book value rm138 million. Now selling 100 acres, still has 93 acres remaining.

Within Nov 2023, Crescendo disposed about 100 acres of industrial land in Nusa Cemerlang Industrial Park to 3 parties for more than 500 million at rm120, and rm125 per sq ft. These lands are for Data Centres to suppliment 2 existing Data Centres across the road in Ascendas High Tech Park. Expect to announce special dividend not less than 30 sen when deal concluded.

Crescendo selling the land to STT GDC, a Temasek subsidiary operating data centres worldwide for 120 ringgit per sq ft. Johor is fast becoming Data Centre for Asia Pacific Region, capitalized on close proximity to Singapore. Since Singapore has stopped any further Data Centre development due to high power consumption, high water consumption, expensive land cost, and high labour cost, it is very logical for foreign companies to set up Hyperscale Data Centres in Johor. Can expect more land sales to new comers especially from China, US, Germany, Japan and South Korea.

Seems that only Perak in West Coast has being left out from development. Perak state govt must work extra hard to develop Tanjung Malim (with Geely and BYD investment) and Parit Buntar to bang on Batu Kawan extension.

UAW gets 25% pay hike for its members. It should stick to 40% instead of 25%, so as to safeguard workers' interest. Never mind if automobile industry going to bankrupt or not. Must get higher pay to cushion high inflation and high interest rate for mortgage.

There can only has one Leader to lead the country. Go back to read what Zhu Rongji had to say, Jiang Zemin is the boss. Must learn how to be No. 2 or you will be sidelined. Quite a blessing 李克強 was not removed as Prime Minister, at least to show unity in CCP govt.

You are right. Property prices all the way down since 2015, property counters showing weaker results since 2016.
As prices already came down for 9 years, how much more house prices can drop? If you go for secondary market, you must have notice prices have appreciated by 10% since covid's day. Residential property rental has increased by 10 to 15%.
Can new launch going to sell cheap? Land cost, labour cost, material cost, marketing cost all are no more the same as in 2015. House prices set to fly when everything is back to normal (meaning that Ukraine war over, interest rate return to normal, Malaysian political setting return to normal). Either you can go for those completed residential units still selling at hefty discount, or you may scout for any counter which give you value for for money. Good money should go for good property counters, not otherwise.

Yes. Every nation has the right of self defense. When is the rights of self defense ended? When do you think self defense is grossly excessive? What is the effect on Israel-Hamas conflict on world economy? How bad and for how long Bursa will be affected? Bearing in mind recent budget 2024 has been fatal for Bursa when Finance Minister introduce Capital Gain Tax, effectively killing all potential FDI.

As for hike in sales and service tax, I would rather prefer GST of 6%, instead of SST 8%. Now your car service and eating out will cost more on top of price hike by the vendor/ restaurant owner.

"SHAREHOLDERS OF BPLANT ARE ADVISED TO EXERCISE CAUTION WHEN DEALING IN THE ORDINARY SHARES OF BPLANT AND TO SEEK APPROPRIATE ADVICE IF THEY WISH TO DO SO, AS BPLANT HAS NOT RECEIVED ANY FIRM OFFER RELATING TO THE GENERAL OFFER."
No firm offer. No time frame. May be like Boustead that take years to produce an offer letter.

Money should not be a loan to LTAT. Once privatized BPlant, LTAT must clear the the money it receive by parting all businesses it owned to the govt. Govt can recoup the money by cannabilize and sell to any interested party, just like Slatar Walker did to Haw Par International.
2 months ago | Report Abuse
Money is from govt. MoF? PNB? Petronas?
So who is going to own Boustead tomorrow? LTAT can just sell all to that party and distribute proceed to its members. Case close. Account close. LTAT just focus on Kooperasi will do.

KLK will also suffer trading loss in respect to BPlant deal. Bigger risk is when can it get back the deposits. May be within 2 weeks. May be vendors ask for extension after extension.
Remember the KSU fiasco? Vendor was not able to recover the money and where is KSU now?

God Bless KLK. KLK can now go for other plantation land owned by foreigners. Lee Oi Hian can also consider other smallish Chinaman plantation like MHC.

70 sen is to build foundation, 60 sen may be quite safe, 50 sen is very safe, 40 sen is a bargain, 30 sen is sailang price. Up to your risk appetite.

KLK should just go on trading tomorrow regardless anything BPlant wish to announce. KLK can just reply to Bursa stating nothing to report right until this moment. Don't spoil your own reputation and credibility because incompetency due to others. Save your own backside first.

Why no announcement till now? What is the justifications for suspension? Bursa double standard? Surely will lose faith if Bursa not taking any action against BPlant tomorrow.

What is the benefit of paying premium price but not a controlling stake?
Why should there be a veto (or Golden share) for a minority shareholder? Unless it was previous govt owned. BPlantation is just a privately owned company so happen majority shareholder was a govt agency.
If LTAT still insists on controlling the company (or veto power), KLK should just walk away. Any approval from KLK shareholders so far?

It is a blessing that Boustead-KLK deal not going through, otherwise TM will again come out with an anti Chinese comment. KLK has a lot more land suitable for property development, so what it is looking for is just to expand its plantation like acquisition of IJM Plantation few years back.
A better candidate could be United Plantation, a pure agri group owned by foreigners. Otherwise smallish company like Inch Kenneth Kajang, or other Chinaman plantation company like TSH, MHC, Jtiasa also suit KLK's appetite.
