JFinn : congrats , i salute you. But u have to remember .. u can never buy at the lowest nor sell at the hiest... if u want to do that, u will ALWAYS lose. If u can do that, Warren will pay u USD 1 mil just to share a table with u.

So what have u got to do? Buy more as the price drops, cos u never know when it will shoot up without going to this price. Keep loading at the lower prices as u are buying at a much lower price than most who bought during the post dividend days of last year.

Sifu stkoay: mmm..... no effect to ur bottom line and i can guarantee you if u used ur cash div or cash below 100k, u wont see any significant average price as u are top heavy.. means u average price after taking into consideration, means u have to load same total number of shares at 7.50 to effet ur average price, else u will only see 2 or 4 sen difference,, which is just dinner money.

right sifu.. u are in a different category, For me yes, if buy few lots can see change in my average price, but my average price is around here , so not going to make much difference. Thats why i have a little "reserved money" to buy if it drops a lot... it it doesnt drop also no problem as i have accumulated a satisfactory number of shares for the time being.

No one can predict what the market direction is at a future period, so i only have to do a "what if" scenario if market crashes.... and no one in this world can guarantee it wont happen, but it is always good to keep it in mind, so FI it did occur, u sources of income/cash are available.

Just a reminder , when people were flipping properties and were very glad they owned a few houses for fashflow, some of that same people lost their pants. Only the guru who guided them was very much wealthier than the investors. Now with half past politicians who cant even do anything right for the past 50 years , u believe they wont screw themselves up? Only sure thing is , songlap will be perfected by those monkeys, and sure to blame the penang guy if they pissed on their own legs.

U guys agree?

50 years of proof, what else do u guys need?

Haha...sifu tolle....nothing to should about....just plain lucky...made some money during the AFC and the dot com run....I was the No.30 shareholder in LKT...bought at average about 2....the stock hit a high of 12.50 in early 2000, but i was greedy and don't know how to sell bcos everyday up by a ringgit...only managed to take some profit.

....then made another round during the sub prime in 2007/8 period....sold all my holding in November 2014...when index was at around 1700+ to 1800.....switch all to ASM in 2015...when 1MDB issue surfaced...units were available then....

....then came Covid 19, I switch out from ASM from April last year....initially bought CIMB at around 3.50....then added Mashing ...RHB....and Genting....

....made some money from these purchase....and topped up MBB since March this year...my initially average was 8.33...then dropped to 8.11 after previous DRP...then topped up again recently...my current average is 8.15...but will drop to 8.01 at the end of this month after DRP is in.

I was holding only about 100+K shares in LKT...already the top shareholders...bcos it was a very small paid up company :p

sifu tolle : like I said above...nothing to shout about...it was just plain luck....

....I believe in these things...like people say No.1 is your life, No.2 is luck and No.3 is fungsui.....

...but one also need to work hard...do home work on the stock before you buy :)

My investing style is simple...I am a value investor...I buy good stocks which I consider cheap and keep for some time...low PE...low PB...and high dividend yield.
I don't chase momentum...and I don't buy hot stocks....example...I don't touch gloves when many are buying during the recent run.

https://www.theedgemarkets.com/article/banks-have-submitted-counter-proposal-govts-interest-waiver-plan-say-sources

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 8): Banks have come up with a counter proposal to the government's interest waiver plan, and some banking sources say it has been submitted to the authorities.

However, bankers were tight-lipped when asked what the counter proposal entails. Most just referred The Edge to the Association of Banks (ABM) on the matter.

This is an “interesting” development, a banking analyst said on learning about the banks coming up with a counter proposal, adding this shows that banks are looking for middle ground.

Recently, Rob ... resorted to ridiculing Wall Street and even alleged that an implosion will occur in OCT for the market.

These days, BUSINESS SPEAKERS - AUTHORS
use any rumors and raise it to the limit to
attract attention, gain more fame & MAKE MORE MONEY
They spew sh!t, spread fear, scare monger & sow panic to make you sell at a loss so that they can buy it L O W !

Many of these speakers-authors-news presenters have
No BEST & TOP financial education qualifications,
No LONG FINANCIAL STOCK INVESTMENT experience

Yet, they try to influence the market by using the media, press & other means.

Don't fall prey to them as they are using you, collectively, to manipulate and move the market to their advantage at your disadvantage ! ! !

Maybankers,
89.4 % adult vac as of Fri 8 Oct according to JKJAV.

+0.3 % maybe today Sat if follow avg vac trend increase
+0.3 % maybe tmr Sun if follow avg vac trend increase,
then Sun night maybe 90 % adult vac.
Maybe Mon may have new news.

This is merely a personal opinion based on current avg vac trend increase but can vary or change due to many factors.

Posted by prudentinvestor > 2021-10-09 11:56 | Report Abuse

Maybank's interim dividend this year at 28sen a share is already the highest in more than 10 years. I expect the final dividend to be announced after the release of its 4th quarter results to be at least equal to or more than 38.5sen a share, translating into a dividend yield of over 8%, much more than the EPF is able to pay and several times more than one year fixed deposit rates. Maybank shouldn't be trading at RM8 a share.

@jeffchan1901 : It was just my personal observation, I may and may not be correct.
What I observed....most of the sell Q are in big quantity...and before this Q comes in in the early part of the morning, sell Q were very minimal...and on several occasion, a minutes before mid day break, sellers pulled out the, 3 Q you are able to see, all at the same time....and there were many days during the preclosing 10 minutes...buyer/seller are Q at preclosed price...but not a single trade was done during the 10 minutes.

....sifu tolle should be sharper at monitoring these types of movement...may be he can share with us.

...that's why, I, as a value investor is invested heavily in this stock.

@stkoay Yes I also noticed that trend. Big volume queue and then suddenly disappear before 12.30pm break and/or also 4.45pm final break. I always thought they were a ploy by big fund managers to give artificial perception of strong support fighting for shares at said prices. so small retailers also queue for the price. and when these big boys suddenly pull out, the orders will be bought / sold by smaller retailers trapped at that price. thats one reason why shares prices have been back and forth for some counters including Tenaga. hence as you rightly noted, not a single trade done by big volume buy/sell orders. I could be wrong on my observation too. what do you think?

EPF outsourced 155 Billion to external fund managers

Hope they are buying more & not selling more of MBB.

Or are they investing in overseas equities, etc.

@jeffchan1901 : For Tenaga...what I noticed is...while EPF has been buying MBB lately....but they have sold Tenaga quite a lot.

In September, EPF sold a total of 44M shares in Tenaga.
Don't know why, may be they were realigning their portfolio.

Comparing MBB vs Tenaga....my personal view is that MBB has got better value :

MBB 6 mths 2021 : EPS 38 sen...Dividend 28 sen...current price 8.05

Tenaga 6 mths 2021 : EPS 31 sen...Dividend 22 sen...current price 9.71

...and from historical records....MBB's dividend payout is more consistent.

“Interstate travel is only allowed for those who are fully vaccinated.
