The YOY quarterly results are sure good, improving the TTM earnings to 37 cents, and with that the TP to RM4.44 at a PER of 12. So, there is quite a bit of upside there.

That said, I wonder why the topline has reduced by 6 percent Q on Q? Any idea anyone?

You must hold your shares until the ex-date to be entitled for the dividend. Share sold after entitlement date still can get the dividend payment.

This bank disposed their asset management/brokerage division a long time ago. Alliance Bank's main revenue comes from commercial banking and generates a small amount of revenue from transaction banking and corporate banking. Unlike Hong Leong Bank and UOB, Alliance Bank has no investment banking division and does not participate in any deal flows/mergers and acquisitions.

Alliance Bank is still the worst bank in Malaysia. It might be worse than Affin Bank at this point

Because Alliance Bank disposed profitable divisions like brokerage, asset management. They don't have investment banking division and relies heavily on SME loans. Let me ask you, if Bank Negara keeps raising interest rates, you think these small companies surviving on cheap credit can survive? Consumer sentiment dipped to all time low, small companies will suffer.
However, the only good thing is that Alliance Bank will make more profits off SME clients due to higher interest rate. But it works until it doesn't when SME stop borrowing money. I am not bullish on Alliance

I literally told you guys about this announcement but no one mentions it. Keeps talking about dividends. Who cares about dividends if the future profits are going to drop?
Alliance Bank disposed so much of their investing banking division. I don't understand how a company can make such foolish decisions

If interest rate rises, even though banks make more profits per transaction. However, if small and medium enterprises stop borrowing money due to high rates, then it means the rise in interest rate has no effect on whether or not Alliance Bank can beat profits.
This @StartofTheBull studies too much economics. Economics all theory no practice
