I invest in both Genting and Harta, both are undervalued for different reasons. Even with the rise of Omicron, with a large majority of the population fully vaccinated, it is unlikely we will see protracted lockdown in the near future. Gaming counters will slowly recover back to pre-pandemic level. At this price Genting is still relatively cheap, and price are close to the bottom. The days of kutiping at below RM3 are long gone, so if prices drop, no need to panic. Just buy at the right opportunity.
While China represents a large portion of M'sia foreign customer, there is no news yet on opening up anytime soon. We don't know when they will do so, just have to wait for further announcements. My guess is second half of 2022 at the very earliest, but very likely in 2023 or even 2024 at current trend. So don't rely on them too much at the moment.
Good morning...genting needs to show improvement in QR. Just wait for 4th QR. If no good, wait for 1st QR 2022, then 2nd QR 2022......sure got one good one... Second week of 2022...
Germany points finger at Genting group over shipyard collapse
BERLIN (Jan 11): Germany blamed the parent company of cruise-ship operator Genting Hong Kong Ltd (Genting HK) for the insolvency of shipbuilder MV Werften and the potential loss of as many as 1,900 jobs.
Economy Minister Robert Habeck said the federal government did all it could to prevent the bankruptcy of the shipbuilder, which is owned by Genting HK and based in the relatively poor northern state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
An offer of aid was rejected by MV Werften’s owners, Habeck said on Monday (Jan 10) in an emailed statement.
Genting Bhd n Genting M'sia does not own any share in Genting Hong Kong.
"Genting Hong Kong’s wholly-owned ship-building subsidiary MV Werften Holdings Ltd (MVWH) is reportedly on the brink of bankruptcy after authorities in Germany stalled on a promise to provide financial assistance."
"Among the agreements was a €300 million (US$340 million) grant from Germany’s Economic Stabilization Fund to help fund completion of a new cruise ship, Global Dream, at the MV Werften shipyards.
However, when the company attempted to draw down US$88 million of the grant in mid-December it was informed by authorities that it had not met conditions required to access the loan. A court hearing on the matter is scheduled to take place this Tuesday 11 January."
This book is the result of the author's many years of experience and observation throughout his 26 years in the stockbroking industry. It was written for general public to learn to invest based on facts and not on fantasies or hearsay....
