Schwerin District Court did not agree Genting is in a distress situation without the loan.

The cruise operator is entitled to appeal today's decision. Genting HK hasn't issued a statement yet.

Restructuring means you do not have to pay in full every $$ that you owe.
Even if HK Genting is liquidated, the boss does not lose everything. This family trust owns substantial shares in Las Vegas casino, Genting Singapore n also own shares in Genting Bhd, Genm..
The boss has already made his calculations years ago. He decouple HK Genting completely from Genting Bhd n Genm.
He can start another new company to take the cruise business if he wants to. Like new low cost airlines starting operations with lower cost structure n devoid of debts to take on Airasia.
By the time Genting HK is restructured, the pandemic would probably have ended.

Genting Hong Kong May File for Liquidation as Funding Dries Up

(Jan 18): Genting Hong Kong Ltd may file for provisional liquidation as soon as Tuesday after it wasn’t able to secure funds to help it stay afloat following an insolvency at its German shipbuilding subsidiary.

The troubled cruise operator plans to file for provisional liquidation with courts in Bermuda unless it receives “credible proposals for a solvent, consensual and inter-conditional restructuring solution”, Genting Hong Kong said in a filing to the Asian financial hub’s exchange. Trading of the company’s shares has also been suspended.

Institutions confirm no risk Genting from Genting HK woes…..this has been made clear……there are some many companies that have large investor who has other investments….there is no direct or indirect risk….in any case nobody in their right mind will sell shares given the current undervaluation ……
