This adage about sell on news …..is old and not necessarily correct. What if there is continuous stream of good news…..are we saying people sell on every announcement! 😅 The fact is there are medium to long term investors and short term traders who sell for few cent profit! Gamuda has lot of interest in many upcoming projects and is good long term investment as can be seen from many analysts.

On balance it appears positive. TauRX thank MHRA for being flexible in their approach suggests that MHRA are being positive. I think this may to do with the placebo issue?

All sounds positive on approval front. I had said this some time back that if NICE had already set up a meeting in Feb 2925 to discuss cost effectiveness of TauRX and its suitability for NHS use than one can assume probability of MHRA approval is high I would have thought. That said I would have expected more insider action.

I wonder what the latest news on US litigation is? That is important as well! The defence is relying on the fa t it is a matter of shareholder dispute and should be resolved via discussion as opposed to court action. Interesting. They forget that it is the US, where everything is about litigation

Genting classic case of governance failure. Management overpaid and underworked. They are totally inept.

UK acquisition can be problematical. Investing in mature markets is always tricky many have suffered. How come no local constructor has bought the company. What was the terms of acquisition! How come analysts don’t question this. Also there are labour issues, which is not easy to resolve.

Eagleye….what you are saying is a strong probability….they use nominee accounts to deal on their behalf….and is a tactic used often… I have been stating this. Already the shares have underperformed by 40%- 80% compared to other companies…and as you say there is no communication or defence what so ever. I can say they are easily one of the worst management of public companies and they have a very poor governance
Culture. That said I am very optimistic about TauRX… very likely MHRA will approve not too sure about the FDA. So a rally is a strong probability

I am pretty sure contracts are awarded to people of interest by Genting …so all expenditure is to connect people for sure ….predictive behaviour

Stock

2 months ago | Report Abuse

Poor governance culture as been pointed out many times over. Fuddy duddy management, monolithic in style rely on corruption and favours to make money. No culture to promote shareholder interests other than owners at the expense of other shareholders and miniority shareholders including associates. Management should go, but he won’t ……until something permanent happens

I had eluded few weeks back that the fact NICE is meeting in Feb to discuss coast effectiveness of the drug for NHS use suggests to me they are confident that it will be approved. As there many people involved in the meeting, which would be waste of time if it was not likely to get approval. This is for UK of course.

LKT, said his intention is to keep TauRX medication cheap. I think he actually meant he intends to keep Genting share price cheap! Miscommunication as his communication skills are extremely doggy.

Stock

Where is LKT? Does this guy communicate? Never heard ho speak… I guess not missing anything. Lousy leader not to rely on when matter of life and death… he will not be on the front line but hiding some where in the barracks! That’s my summation of him.

Keep blaming the government! Very delusional! How about other counters who are doing well? Blame the govt there as well I suppose! If I were Genting I would be careful about listing on US , I can few individuals being jailed and taken to cleaners. Better stick to Asia for
Malpractice and poor ethics.

I told you guys this guy the super hero for some, big boss to others makes his money from the Genting company structure and other shareholders! He uses the ltd structure to reap havoc, simple that’s why he won’t exit as boss as he controls all decisions and the independent risk committee is not independent and same for remuneration committee. You need a coup! Perhaps inject Covid infection or something drastic… as he aint moving

@mushimushi…..absolutely correct re colonisers. The gang is US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and master U.K. you can also add Germany and France……we should not be surprised if their behaviour. . They are at the heart of the worlds problems….read history and find out now many countries were raped and pillaged by U.K. nothing changes …they are still at it …now they appoint migrant servants and slaves to do their dirty job, Sunak, Patel, Suealla and Kemi latest head of Conservative party. As long as USD is used for business countries will remain exposed…to their politics

Genting expansion into US, New York, is very risky given Genting’s governance issues and unethical behaviour by owners. Likely to face law suits as they can’t expect to get away with their behaviour as they do in Asian markets! Old man better rethink strategy.

Stock

So called analysts have a buy call on Genting and this has been the case for some time. Yet they never discuss why share price is in down trend for some time. We know why this is the case…. Governance issue with mgt. this is never discussed why? Analysts are double agents. They should be held accountable and controlled by Bursa.

Let’s be honest lot of these old family owned companies like YTL Genting benefited from old style,of doing business which relied on favours and corruption to get contracts …the world is moving on. Look at China, they have brought to justice many corrupt corporates…..corruption involves 2 parties one which pays to get business without competing, and the other t party awarding contracts without getting necessarily a big reward…anthying was sufficient. In South Africa, black African natives were not able to get mortgages or loans to buy anything and the whites dominated buying properties which rose….90% of CT in hander of these people…not that they were brilliant but were in power hence to this day they have financial, control. Not much different here.

Governance failure …market does not trust management ie CEO. He can any time do party related transaction dump expenses on to associates, dump shares, etc…it is behaviour deficit….otjerwise more than 50% under valued!

I have been hacked I can’t type ..hence lot of typos …not wowed strong a sentence!

Stock

Genting is worst performing share counter in its peer group. Most have achieved 40-90% returns ….whilst this ugly duck has struggled despite revenue recovering and valuation metrics suggesting 50% undervalued. So why? Well we know it’s down to CEO, first as an inept leader completely lacking in foresight and unwilling to hand over reigns to professional independent manager. Secondly he is ethical and his focus is to make money from the company structure by dumping shares from time to time and to exercise party related transaction….passing over is owned assets to company at unreasonable value and also to pass on expenses etc….which I beleive is partly why the US associate is complaint about. All consistent with poor shareholder governance. Any way on the positive side at the current price shares are being snapped up….watch out of TauRX news we may see some bad needs further drop the price before the good news! With this counter all is a possibility.

Stock

Genting management morally, ethically, physiologically, corrupt and devoid of ideas. The only way big boss knows how to make money is from other shareholders. He is too old and out of sink with current business trends… does he care? No because his objective of making money is through company structure as he holds 40% of stock!

Stock

2 months ago | Report Abuse

I for one have always stated that there are significant Governance issues with Genting and it’s old management. They are old style operators…..bit beyond sell by date. Also they are morally and ethically not to be relied on. They originate from an era where corruption and favours are central part of doing business and do t really care about the shareholders. Despite this the shares using recognised valuation tools are undervalued to the tune of 40-50%. For fortunes to change, we need new investors, a catalyst changer and definite change in CEO….is this likley to happen? We may have a catalyst of sorts and perhaps have to wait little longer for cultural and management change which is very badly needed. Meanwhile let’s hope for a change in fortune. Most companies would have had change in CEO when first trend of underperformance became apparent …..we are talking 12 years ago.

By the way I am not against constructive arguments being put forward….it is the constant bickering and endless use of historic posts ….this no use to any one and quite boorish really. Comments can be positive or negative but nit based on bias! We are here to make money! Hope that is true for all!

My view on Taurx….NICE have set up a meeting to discuss cost effectiveness of Taurx …..on 25 Feb 2025. Official report will be released if Taurx is cost effective and suitable drug for cash strapped NHS to deploy. My thinking is they would not start this process unless they are reasonably confident that MHRA will give the approval and this can officially any time between 31 Dec and February 2025. All exciting stuff. What we don’t know is the reaction in share price if MHRA give the approval! Any views, please share? Genting needs this badly…..given its latest governance issues in US. I say governance, becuase it is just that and have history of impropriety, with its shareholder and passing the buck to shareholders, in this case allocating unreasonable costs to an associate company. Sounds perfectly feasible given their pass behaviour, but does it warrant such damages not too sure.
