Genting Group wont be allowed to list in US market as it won’t meet the regulators reporting requirements, and if it did it is more likely to get fined. If it really wants to make Genting attractive then it should look to list in US!

People just don’t get it! Genting share price has been underperforming since 2011 well before CV19! Why the underperformance? As i have highlighted, before there are many reasons. Poor governance generally, no change in CEO for last 20+ years despite poor performance. Highest remunerated CEO in Malaysia and other countries as well. Share dumping, in open market by key stakeholders, after dubious announcements, interested party related transactions where by poor performing investments held privately are sold to listed Genting entity, at inflated value, use of impairment charges to manipulate results as these charges often there is lot subjectivity, no promotion of company to generate interest via analysts meetings and holding capital markets day etc. Declaring high dividend when company cant afford it as owners needs cash to purchase other investments or to cover losses, eg like Genting Cruise. Only way price is going to rise any where near 8 RM is if TauRX becomes a reality! Otherwise Genting will continue to under perform even if sales and profits recover!

Good results improving results no impact on share price due to other company specific issues …this has been case for some time. Underperformance since 2011….unless there is a windfall giving a very short term opportunity to exit this performing company.

Can’t even present results and promote the company, cant face analysts as independent professional CEOs do. Just watch results presentation by say Rolls Royce of U.K., Aeronautical and not car business….the presentation is electric and informative… gives confidence to shareholders …and he is paid less than Genting!

I am afraid business growth does not always translate into share price growth for a simple reason, share price is determined by supply and demand. I agree normally share price will reflect business peformance, but sadly in Malaysia there are many founded owners from legacy …and these guys play havoc with share price quite often dumping shares in open market armed with inside information making stock market an uneven playing field. Case in point is Genting for example, one of many, this share is plagued with party related transactions, selling interests to listed entities from their private investments, write off of assets, promotion and dumping, private placements with heavy discount, bailing out private held investments etc etc…all,examples of poor governance

Put it another way if you invested in 2011 you would not have made any money ….or should I say capital gain. That is a long period of under performance ….!

How do judge CEO’s performance? Business sales, profitability or share price growth and total returns to shareholders? Genting has been performing very poorly since 2011 when share prices peaked. Since than it has drifted downwards …..so in my assessment CEO has not delivered …look at leading companies CEO they deliver share price growth or they are removed or resign.on top of this he is highest paid CEO by some distance. So I am afraid you cannot say he is ok and has done well? Based on what metrics, just favouritism.

I am confident we will hear about regulatory approval of TauRx by August / September 2024. So worth remain invested in 2024….meanwhile take the dividends a they come. Not convinced about Genting business strategy though …willing to pay high taxes …….not many foreign companies make money in US particularly old business like gambling ….for boss it is ok as he can make money other way by dealing in shares and TP transactions etc

Genting boss behaviour, poor governance and poor marketing of the company are the main issues that has impacted Genting. Party related transactions, dumping of shares in open market and not really focussed on delivering shareholder returns are the main reason. Most companies with such under performance would fire the CEO…but they can’t as CEO owns 40% + shares of the company so nobody can fire him, the independent directors are toothless and part of the poor governance culture. There is open insider trading in these shares…the only opportunity I see in Genting share price is TauRX …even then shareholders will have to be fleet footed…I think as there will be dumping of shares prior to major positive news coming out of TauRX such as likelihood of imminent approval,from regulators…. Followed by big investment flows! This is my conclusion. Incidentally sale of parcel of land in Miami was announced and price went up only later to correct and since than we hear whomever the buyer was has pulled out! How convenient! Think about it there is a pattern.

Back to Taurx….from my sources …TauRX is definitely coming sooner than acclaimed…what immediate immediate it has on Genting share price and allowed by its manipulating major shareholder I am not and 100 % sure. To me the quickest result for general body of shareholders would be acquisition of TauRX by a big Pharma rather than listing etc ….which again be manipulated. This way the value will flow immediately.

More and more research i conduct on TauRX I am pretty confident approval will be given either by MHRA or FDA or both within 5- 6 months of providing final data which I assume is sometime this year probably Jan or February which suggests any time between July and September 2024. There are risks of course particularly due to Placebo, issue ..but not all drugs use an placebo. 2nd half results are due in August and run up to this will be very interesting time I reckon.

Couple of positives from PP of shares is that it is cheaper way to fund growth compared to borrowing which reduces profits, and the fact that the shares were not heavily discounted suggests those who prescribed would not have invested if they don’t believe the price will move up and 2.36 should be the floor and we know the profitability will grow rapidly over next 2 -3 years when FPSO come to production and debt is settled…at this point the company may deliver higher dividends in line with of reduction of debt.

Folks at TauRX have the up to date news…I wonder if there is activity within the privately held shares of TauRX which would be the real indicator…if there is no sales means the investors are positive of the outcome and are holding to realise when the company is listed or taken over by big Pharma company.

The problem is epf they effectively control the price so they milk it …that’s why they buy and sell and make a margin from variations in price without actually seeing the price grow….this is pretty much true of the bursa where epf have invested…..that’s is the conclusion I am drawing …we need good spread of investors in particular foreign investment

Good company results , very ambitious highly geared. Problem is people don’t understand it’s business it is generating high profit growth but taking high risks in doing so. Is it managing risks well…yes so far it has…it needs to roll out remaining FPSO quickly and not take on more contracts at the same time. It should begun to maximise its position some in 2027The ceo needs to market the company more to make the shares attractive. As it stands it is not delivering returns to shareholders either in form of price growth or dividends …it can’t give high dividends as it is a growth company with high debts so it has to market its shares…more effectively.

Still early days …we will have many days when it is up and down….however we all know it is matter of time when Taurx is a reality..even after approval there are many strategic options to consider which is listing of company, tie up with big Pharma etc etc….no impact in terms of revenue ….until much later…but the value of Genting investment in TauRX will be revalued…currently at book cost.

US and Japanese market has been the leaders so far this year. With Japan delivering whopping 43 % return and US 27 % circa return this year, even Europe has been positive. What is worrying is we continue to underperform and when US correction happens which is due, we will follow the correction downwards but never upwards! China and HK is struggling and this needs to reverse, most likely 2025.

The main issue with Taurx is that placebo cannot be used as a comparator. I thought scientifically it can be proven that the drug is effective. Can’t see if additional testing will resolve this issue. The data gathered so far is conclusive…and given its safety profile there is a strong case for approval. Also there is a precedent where approval has been given without a placebo comparator …hopefully the regulators are convinced. On balance there is strong case for approval to be given unless of course politics is in play, which can never be discounted. I feel very positive of the outcome however I impact on Gent price and major shareholder behaviour is the major unknown…still risk / reward ratio is positive

Conference was very positive for TauRX, however I would keep an eye on sell volumes, as there may be people who would initiate a panic sell in order to buy low further good news might be many months later in the year…any drop to 4.50 would be a very good buy…though I would be surprised if it went that low!

I understand that the panel discussion yesterday at the conference post release of test data went very well. This is encouraging. Let’s hope politics don’t impact the approval! With FDA you just don’t know.

Just want to add that listing in US is a lengthy process and they are very focussed on governance matters and disclosures so don’t see listing in US soon. Genting Berhad is the better option as it diversified by investing in associates as well as investment in Taurx which we know will be beneficial ultimately.

Sell queues sometimes are not realised the following day. Sell orders are cancelled before market opens….part of the tricks used to ‘cause panic selling. We know that approval for Taurx is matter of time and if one wants to take a chance you have to forget the volatility and focus on the bigger prize.

Today there is a panel discussion and I am sure there will be also some discussion on how to g product to market post approval…. by all accounts all big pharma companies and regulator are presented. The strategy options there to alone and list the company or JV with major Pharma…..listing may be more rewarding but initially more costly.
