According to the latest quarter report and by my own calculation the net current asset is 80c per share and the management has proposed the utilisation of the sale proceeds from the sale of a subsidiary to include a dividend of about 16c within the next three months (from 30 June 2020). Net tangible asset is 141c. Obviously it is very much undervalued.
Jeff, could you describe how to calculate the net current asset by referring to the latest quarter report as it is filled with pages of numbers and hard for me to figure out. About the dividend, on 12 June a 16sen dividend was already paid. But you mean another 16sen dividend will be paid within 3 months from 30 June? The report is not very clear for me. Thanks in advance for your time.
Peace99 all you need to do is go to the Balance Sheet page, take the total current assets and subtract the total liabilities and then divided by the total number of shares. The 16c dividend is the total amount to be proposed divided by the total number of shares. It can be found in the notes towards the end of the report. Cheers
Jeff5142 Many thanks for your explanation, and just to check and also for others who may have the same questions: I did two calculations, one just using the current assets (118,086, all numbers in thousands), current liabilities (13,112) and number of shares (126,729) gives 82.8 sens/share, as you quoted. Repeating for the total: total assets (221,963) & liabilities (42,535) gives RM1.41/share. This last figure is also given in the QR page 2. Just wonder what is the real difference between the net current asset/share and net total asset/share? And which is more relevant - current or total? I'm still not sure the 16c dividend refers to the one paid around 12 June, or as you said has yet to be paid? How to tell?
Total asset is more relevant. I guess you are right, the report is end of March so dividend which have been paid in June will only be reflected in next quarter not 3 months after the date of the latest quarter released on 30 June. Thank you for your correction.
