I see a lot of explanations and remarks objecting JPMorgan analyst rating but don't you guys know that Bursa is all sentiment? Especially for a stock that reached its all time high on the basis on goreng(?) and yes fundamentals.

All it takes is just a few big shots to initiate the selling and the downtrend will reinforce itself until opportunistic traders come in.

If it doesn't go up, doesn't hold up, guess what? It's going to go down.

It will open low for sure, and likely to open too low, so maybe the best course of action is to slowly sell as it recovers on the same day as oversold stocks tend to attract opportunistic traders.

I think one of the biggest mistake the JP Morgan analyst done is they thought the current ASP has been price into the Quarter Report.

For everyone information, if you place an order with Top Glove today, the ASP maybe is USD90-USD100 per carton, which is equivalent to RM400 per carton (1000 pcs). But this order TopGlove will only fulfill by maybe Q4'2021. That mean, this RM410 per carton sales will only reflected in Q4'2021 or Q1'2022.

For current quarter Q1'2021, the revenue show in the report is reflecting the ASP during Apr-May'20 period, at that time, the ASP is around USD55 per carton, equivalent to RM220 per carton.

If you take Topglove current quarter revenue to calculate, it would be RM4,759,253,000 / 21,250,000 carton* = RM223 per carton.

*21,250,000 carton is derived from 85bil pcs / 4 quarter / 1000 pcs per carton.

White House chief of staff Mark Meadows told the head of the FDA to submit his resignation if the agency doesn't clear Pfizer's vaccine for emergency use by day's end, according to reports.
The warning led FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn and the agency to accelerate its timetable for clearing America's first Covid-19 vaccine from Saturday morning to later Friday, according to The Washington Post.
The New York Times, Axios and Reuters also reported that Meadows told Hahn to resign if he didn't move quickly to clear the vaccine.

THE DEMAND FOR GLOVES ALREADY PEAK, COUPLE WITH SHARP INCREASE IN CAPACITIES & COMPETITIONS & VACCINES COMING WHICH IS A RECIPE FOR SHARE PRICE COLLAPSE FOR GLOVES COMPANIES LOH!!

TheStar Sat, Dec 12, 2020 08:10am - 1 day ago

Peak gloves

WHEN the price of crude oil was onward to its historical highs, we were introduced to the phrase “peak oil.”

Peak oil was to show how production of crude oil was at its high and why the world will not see oil gushers in the frequency it has in the past. Well production did rise, given the historic prices that made marginal fields, deepwater and fracking viable.

But demand unfortunately did not keep up because the high prices meant the world started looking at alternative and renewable energy.

Like high oil prices back in the day where the oil majors were sloshing in cash, the same now may be said of our glove manufacturers.

The role and importance of gloves cannot be understated in the global fight against the Covid-19 pandemic although there is much room for improvement in terms of how some in the industry handle the welfare of their workers.

Top Glove Corp Bhd’s extraordinary profit of RM2.38bil in the first quarter of its 2021 financial year was symbolic of high demand and prices, and it was more than the RM1.87bil it made for the whole of its 2020 financial year.

There is no doubt other glove companies will be making super-normal profit for some time but it will be unfathomable to expect that trajectory of profit increases to continue.

As the world starts rolling out vaccines and as more people get inoculated against Covid-19, then the catalyst for the huge profits would increasingly get muted. The argument that the vaccine rollout will require the use of gloves is true but much of that will be one time use. The world has a population of 7.8 billion people and 16 billion pieces of gloves, or 32 billion if there needs to be two injections, to administer a vaccine to each and every person. Top Glove alone makes way more than that.

Then there is competition from new suppliers. Germany is starting to make rubber gloves seeing the demand and profits companies are making, which would indicate that the barriers of entry are not high for a business that can be automated to a way larger degree than it is in Malaysia. Then there is the production increase from existing manufacturers and new players just in Malaysia that are entering the business.

The glove players will make more money than prior to the pandemic but how will the supply dynamics change and prices react will bear watching over the long run.

Guys, the vaccine is no longer a rumor. Its already being admistered. The glove craze is over however hard it is to accept. Cut loss or take profit while you can. Now is the best time to go into Banking and Oil and Gas Stocks such as Maybank and Petron. Travel is recovering and people are back to work. Demand for banking and petrol consumption will go up.

Sorry, not trying to high jacks Hartalega post, just that you all are in the same category, being pressed down by the sharks, so I reposted fr topglove.
TG net short position means the funds that sold them will need to buy TG back to cover their earlier selling. By flooding the market with negative news, they hope to bring down TG price in order to buy them back on the cheap side. The reality is Covid may be here for a long long time with no proven vaccine. You can see the number of infections getting higher everyday, more Msia companies are venturing into gloves and even other countries such as Japan, Germany and US are trying to set up their own glove factories? Why? If Covid is going to be eliminated, why set up new factories? These factories will take years to built and they can never beat the big 4 in pricing due to economic of scales and logistic pricing of raw materials. Hence TG would remains as a global glove taikor.

The big boss has been buying via SBB and his personal investment holdings. Why? One reason is because of HongKong listing. They would need to take TG Msia shares to be listed in TG HK. The advantage to you as shareholder is this will reduce the numbers of Msia shares and in the process increasing its EPS. Another probable reason could be as one who has been in this industry for decades, TS knows what is in store for the company in terms of future revenues and profit. So why not spend it by buying his own company shares since he trust the return would astronomical?. That is one of the reason Tropicana bought TG shares as well. So why should you sell your holdings when the big boss himself gave you the signal to buy?

Some people really refuse to accept reality. Guys, wake up! The Vaccine is READY. It is currently being administered to the public at record pace. Open your brain up a little bit to accept reality. Don’t keep saying who knows when the vaccine will be ready. It is already here!!! Producing and distributing it will be very fast. Don’t forget, harta mostly exports to US, and US citizens will be the first to get the vaccine.

All glove companies should suspend their trading tomorrow morning and issue a collective statement to all media, press conference and Bursa about the manipulators. They should provide facts and data about the rising ASP, Spot price, Demand, order books, etc, etc. Put the records straight with facts and figures to shut the manipulators and IBs once an for all. Also take action against them.

Do you know that if retailers start disposing glove stocks, who stand to benefit the most? Bank stocks. This is because many retailers who bought and hold glove stocks are holding on for strong fundamental and the same guy would have bought banking stocks if not for the gloves. These banks would want more bad news for gloves, so that retailers will switch their portfolio to banking stocks. Imagine billions of stock worth money suddenly switch to banks. Their stock price will jump up. Now you know why there is a thorough effort to create bad news for glove industry especially the big brother Top Glove?

https://www3.nhk.or.jp/nhkworld/en/news/backstories/1421/ Japan's hospitals facing medical glove shortage

A recent survey of medical staff involved in the fight against COVID-19 found the shortage is becoming a serious issue nationwide. Almost 60 percent of those who responded said that they were running out.

Some facilities have resorted to using gloves that are not medical grade, but Professor Sugawara Erisa, an infection control expert at Tokyo Healthcare University, says that's putting people at risk.

"Sending frontline workers in without medical-grade gloves is like sending them to war without ammunition," she says.

https://www.hida.org/distribution/advocacy/COVID19/Infographic-Glove-S...

Global demand today is 585 billion while max manufacturing capacity is 370 billion, thus secured book order through 2022. And couple with that forecast 10% annual demand growth even before the Covid crisis, if not higher due to heighten hygiene and health awareness, you can do the math how long does it take to catch up or minimum 3 years as the glove manufacturers said.

All countries are running low if not running out of gloves already while the stockpile is almost depleted. Whatever that is supplied today is only Just-In-Time while they need much time to replenish the stockpile.

God bless US, UK, Russia and the world as this would be brutal dark winter resulting in many many thousands of death each day.

Japan's Showa Glove makes gloves for home use, and usually imports the medical-grade versions from Malaysia. Now, with the supply chain severely disrupted, the firm has decided to make the medical gloves too, but a new manufacturing facility is expected to take three years to open.

Judging from the above, if you invest in glove company, please make sure what type of glove they are producing. Harta is the largest nitrile glove manufacturer in the world (or for medical use), not home use and it requires FDA or CE approval.

I have explained, in fact, i have warned about it earlier especially to retail investors to cut loss or take profit.

1. Vaccine is proven, FDA approved, produced in large quantities. It's no longer a RUMOR! It's currently already being administered to the population especially in the US, which is also Harta's largest export country.

2. Move to recovery stocks by IB and institutions such as Banks, Oil&Gas. Think Maybank, PBB, Petron, etc...

3. Thailand ramping up glove production. Imagine, they are the largest producer of rubber in the world. Raw material is aplenty, hence don't you think they will be able to compete on price?
