Foreign holding is very low for this counter @2.81% as at 31/12. So with tapering, the potential outflow of funds is very unlikely. The biggest shareholder, Tabung Haji more than 50% will provide good support for BIMB. For EPF it is not unusual to reduce the holding as it cost might be very low. Just taking profit.

The sad thing about this counter is illiquid but for long-term investor, it will provide good opportunity to enter into banking stock which is shariah compliant with low NPL, high CASA and fee-based.

Actually the illiquidity is a strong point. Did you notice that it is relatively easy to push up the share price ? I have seen it happened a few times already (for example : yesterday). I suspect it is tabung haji behind it

Last time when Tabung Haji acquired 1.39 million shares was on 13/12. This represent about 27% of volume traded. On that day, the stock rose 13 sen from RM4.21 to RM4.34.

On 4/1, stock rose 6 sen to RM4.35 and volume increased from 0.37 million to 1.9 million.
