KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 20 — Trading in the securities of Utusan Melayu (Malaysia) Bhd will be suspended with effect from August 28 and its shares will be de-listed on August 30.

In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the oldest surviving Malay-language newspaper publisher said that it has failed to regularise its condition based on the Main Market listing requirements for failure to submit its regularisation plan to the Securities Commission or Bursa Securities for approval.


“The company’s securities will be de-listed unless an appeal against the de-listing is submitted to Bursa Securities on or before August 27,” it said.

Upon the de-listing, the publisher of Utusan Malaysia, Mingguan Malaysia, Kosmo!, and Kosmo! Ahad, will continue to exist but as an unlisted entity.

Menurutnya, editorial Utusan Malaysia bebas menentukan hala tuju akhbar berkenaan dan bukannya berpihak kepada Umno semata-mata.

Utusan has a negative NTA per share of 90 sen per share, share price 5.5 sen loh.....!!

In a rescue package u need to create a value of at least Rm 0.955 per share, just for investor who invested on utusan Rm 0.055 per share just to breakeven on utusan loh....!!

with delisting at the back of horizon, veli danger mah...!!

Still learning bro.. I'm just curious why today there's so much buying activities when everyone knows it going to be delisted..

It's interesting to see how this whole thing will evolve. It's a good case study of dealing with a PN17 company...

Two possibilities
1. Delisted as plan
2. White Knight coming to the rescue..

Why this is of interest to me is because I have two media companies under my portfolio.. The Star and Media Prima..

I'm not a new kid. However, I have interest in media. Remember it was the Media that shaped GE14. We changed an old regime.

Since everyone said it's a sunset industry, with the Star and Media Prima in my portfolio. It's good to know...
