Company is compulsory to buy back the share when his CEO resign in order to prevent some conflict of interest between the run away CEO and company itself.

Profit is not bad if compared for the last quarter result but the sharing of his profit with investors seems like a bit disappointing.

If the director can sell all his STAR office building all around M'sia and turn their work place at loan building then possibly all of the investors can get big return of investment.

Almost all of the GLC companies do not give dividend to shareholders. The Star is heading the same direction.

Star won't give less dividend as MCA need the money to spend for their members. Expect around 15 sen dividend next year.

I will wait until 4th qtr release...somebody will play this counter near to 4th qtr anouncement..its normal. Last time I buy in sw-cb at 2.5 cent get good profit sell at 6 cent. Now I wait again after buy in at 2 cent. B4 chinese new year I predict to shoot up again

Actually this could be a good stock to hold for long term due to its defensive nature (businesses/courts have to publish announcement in major dailies-economic moat) . Fundamentally sound and sure of at least 12 sens dividends. That makes about 3 sens every quarter and currently cheaper than wellcal!

Waiting now for what Buffett said about paying fair price for a wonderful company.

The Star is a controlled newsprint. We cannot compare with the US newsprint.

That've even better because newsprint licenses are hard to come by! Another advantage. Giving MCA 3 /4 billion every year seems to me a good deal for investing this stock, fundamentally!

And yeah, sorry I don't smoke but I believe in buying cigarette companies if the price is right :)
