Ni Hsin Group Bhd’s (Ni Hsin) wholly-owned subsidiary, Ni Hsin EV Tech Sdn Bhd (NH EV Tech), has launched its new TAILG EBIXON EV electric vehicle (EV) motorcycle models, which are imported and assembled at the company's manufacturing facilities in Seri Kembangan, Selangor.
The company has unveiled two models for the personal and commercial categories, namely TAILG EBIXON BOLD and TAILG EBIXON TORQ.
In a joint statement today, Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) chief executive officer Datuk Arham Abdul Rahman said the production or assembly activities of Ni Hsin reflects the competitiveness of the local company in presenting itself as one of the innovative leaders of EVs.
"This is also in line with the government’s commitment to developing the EV technology ecosystem as outlined in the National Automotive Policy 2020
"Our target is to sell 15,000 units of TAILG EBIXON EV motorcycles a year over the next three years.
"We have signed a memorandum of agreement with several esteemed organisations to assist us in the marketing, promotion and distribution of TAILG EBIXON EV motorcycles," he said.
The company also said that the venture into e-mobility is in line with its drive toward achieving the environmental, social and governance agenda.
Base on the price tag at $9K and $14K, I think it is a recipe for disaster. The equivalance models in China cost not even one third! Is it due to the extremely high production cost in Malaysia or making huge profit???
