Seluruh negara terkejut mendengar berita serbuan polis di tiga unit kondominium mewah di Pavilion Residence, malam semalam yang dikaitkan dengan Perdana Menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Adalah dilaporkan lima lori polis diperlukan untuk mengangkut beg wang tunai dan barangan kemas berserta beratus-ratus beg tangan berjenama.

Pada sidang akhbar selepas itu, Pengarah Jabatan Siasatan Jenayah Komersial (JSJK), Datuk Seri Amar Singh Ishar Singh berkata bahawa salah sebuah unit itu dimiliki oleh seorang 'Tan Sri' tetapi enggan mendedahkan namanya.

Gambar-gambar kotak berkenaan juga mencuri tumpuan apabila ada antaranya ditandakan dengan beberapa label yang tertera nama "Datin Cindy" dan juga "Puan Sri Cindy".

Walau bagaimanapun, tidak jelas sama ada kedua-duanya merujuk kepada orang yang sama.

The Pavilion Residence adalah milik Desmond Lim, yang bergelar "Tan Sri". Beliau dikenali sebagai sekutu bekas perdana menteri Datuk Seri Najib Razak. Isterinya adalah Puan Sri Cindy Tan.

Menurut majalah Forbes, Lim adalah antara 50 orang terkaya di Malaysia, yang mula membangunkan rumah, kondominium dan menara pejabat dengan syarikat hartanah Kumpulan Khuan Choo pada sekitar tahun 80-an.

Sebelum ini, polis mempercayai bahawa saudara-mara Najib tinggal di unit kondominium berkenaan.

Serbuan polis itu adalah susulan laporan yang dibuat oleh Pemuda BERSATU yang mendakwa bahawa sebuah van yang dimiliki oleh Jabatan Perdana Menteri mengangkut beg tangan berjenama mewah ke kondominium berkenaan.

Sementara itu, nama Lim juga muncul dalam perjanjian Bandar Malaysia.

Adalah dilaporkan pada tahun 2015 bahawa beliau bersama dengan konsortium yang disokong oleh Qatar dan IWH CREC Sdn Bhd adalah pembida utama bagi mendapatkan Bandar Malaysia.

Tahun lalu, adalah dilaporkan bahawa Kumpulan Dalian Wanda dari China juga sedang membida projek Bandar Malaysia bersama-sama dengan Malton Bhd, yang diketuai oleh Lim.

Lim juga adalah pengerusi eksekutif Malton Bhd dan WCT Holdings Bhd.

Malaysiakini telah menghubungi pejabat Malton Bhd untuk mendapatkan komen Lim dan sedang menunggu maklum balas daripada pembantu peribadinya.
