I believe SAP drilling Rigs will command very high Day Rate sooner or later ( more than $165K). Nobody wants to invest on a drilling Rig bcos it takes 4-5years to commission and Steel price has double, naturally each new Rig cost a fortune. Nobody knows Oil price in 4--5years time, so everybody will bid up Old Rigs as Oil price
remain at $ 95--100

Mabel Sapura Energy Bhd (SEB) is understood to be in talks to hive off its 51% stake in Sapura Baker Hughes TPS Sdn Bhd, and among the parties interested to acquire the stake is Mabel Icon Offshore Bhd, industry sources say.

One of SEB’s more successful units, Sapura Baker Hughes (formerly known as Sapura GE Oil & Gas Services Sdn Bhd) is a 51:49 joint venture between SEB and Baker Hughes, and has a long-term maintenance services contract from Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) for Floating LNG1 (L) Ltd, a floating liquefied natural gas facility.

The JV also undertakes similar maintenance contracts for production-sharing contractors who are also partners of the national oil company. In a nutshell, Sapura Baker Hughes sells gas turbines, compressors, generators and electric motors, among other products, for the oil and gas (O&G) sector, and provides maintenance services for these assets as well.

Baker Hughes, based in Houston, Texas, holds the remaining 49% of Sapura Baker Hughes. A giant in the energy sector, it has a market capitalisation of more than US$25 billion and provides solutions for energy and industrial customers, apart from oilfield services, including pressure control equipment, subsea production systems and drilling equipment.
