the last time plant no water shut down a few days cause earnings down 73%....this time fire also cause plant to shut down...today this counter sure Holland...according to the edge papers...there are no insurance claims...goodbye

this is because insurance claims can only take effect for plant shut down more than 45 days.. the fire investigation will take around 30 days

investigation requires the shut down of plant to re-certify that the plant is fit for operations....this will impact their earnings as the investigation will not go more than 45 days. But insurance claims requires > 45 days plant shut down only can claim

However, Pasir Gudang Fire and Rescue station chief Ibrahim Omar said the fire was believed to have started from the factory's quench water treatment tanker.

He added that the fire was prevented from spreading to other parts of the factory due to quick action by the department.

"The fire only damaged about five percent of the whole factory area and we managed to control it within 43 minutes," he said.


"There were no injuries or loss of life during the incident as we able to put it out before the fire cause any serious damage," he said.

Ibrahim also said that the department was investigating the cause of fire and the total damage.

It happened yesterday 3:25 and put out within 45 mins..... means everything happened/ended before 5 yesterday...

fire actually starts around 2.30pm, fire under control @ about 5. bomba only manage to quenched the fire at around 6.30pm.

11 days offline = 47% out. Plant accident will involve bomba & govt investigation usually takes longer.. then replacement/repair, more offline time.. azmi 8800, just ask your friend whether that is an isolated incident? becos LCTitan is an integrated complex consisting of about 9 plants. The only consolation is that for this quarter is already a done deal, with only few more trading days, so i reckon the impact on this Quarter is not that worrisome. According to one forum member, it is the new plant, if i recall.

Spy008, when you look at the video, other parts of the complex look normal, its like just smoke bellowing from a smoke stack. As much as we like to think positive, lets just wait for the press conference, and meantime hope that the market maker can maintain the price.
