Someone was looking at some tiny listed companies, and asked me how much it would take to have controlling stakes in some of these companies, without triggering mandatory offer. I have no idea. Anyone knows? Percentage-wise, can an investor be the controlling stakeholder if he buys up about 30% of the target company in the open market? Some of these have so small market cap that they can easily be 'taken over;, he said.
