Bintulu Port Holdings Bhd posted profit before tax of RM34.06 million for its second quarter ending June 30, 2012, compared to RM40.37 million in the preceding year's corresponding quarter.

Revenue for the quarter under review however rose slightly to RM119.52 million, from RM119.26 million previously.

"The group's expenditure in the second quarter of 2012 was higher by RM7.56 million mainly due to the expenses incurred on third-party cargo handling services for bulk fertiliser, maintenance expenses and other administration expenses," it said in a note. -- Bernama
