1) Secondary Education at Tengku Bariah Secondary School, Kuala Terengganu;

2) Was Commissioned in 1972 from the Royal Military College as a Second Lieutenant to the Royal Malay Regiment. (Subsequently he was invited to join the Intelligence Corps in 1979 with the rank of Major);

3) Tertiary Education: Psychological Operations (Fort Bragg, USA), Malaysian Armed Forces Staff College, Strategic Studies (Joint Services Staff College, Australia) and Security / Strategic Studies (UKM).

1) Presently, he is the Chairman of Seaweed (Southeast Asia Welfare and Education) Foundation, Chairman of Permai Hotel, Kuala Terengganu, a member of Implementation Coordination Committee - East Coast Economic Region Development Council (ECER DC) - Terengganu and a Director of Terengganu Incorporated (T.I.) Sdn Bhd;

2) Holding various military appointments at the command and staff levels covering operations, intelligence and management;

3) In 1992, he was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel and appointed as Deputy Director of Public Relations, Ministry of Defence until 1995;

4) In June 1995, he was Military Assistant to the Defence Minister and promoted to Colonel in January 1996;

5) In January 1998, he was further promoted to Brigadier General and appointed as Deputy Director General Defence Intelligence;

6) With the rank of Lieutenant General, he was the Director General of Defence Intelligence from 2001 to 2006 and Director General Task Force 2010 (Malaysia) from 2007 to 2009;

7) Collectively, he has served 39 years for the nation as a military officer before assuming the position as Chairman of Seaweed Foundation.
