AGC looks down on Chinese leaders, says Ling
After being acquitted of cheating the cabinet over the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) project in October last year, former transport minister Ling Liong Sik finally broke his silence, accusing the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC) of looking down on this country's Chinese leaders.
“The AGC looks down and disrespects the Chinese leaders who had contributed to the country,” said Ling as carried by Sin Chew Daily today.
The former MCA president was reported as saying that he had tried to get over the trial which had dragged on for years but stressed that AGC was unforgivable in this matter.
“I’m trying to forgive and forget, but not everyone is forgivable…I feel angry every time when I talk about this issue,” he said.
Ling (left) reiterated that the trial was “wrong prosecution” and he had lost confidence in this country's judicial system.
“People who have done nothing wrong will also be prosecuted, what kind of country is this?”
“Maybe we have good laws but at the same time we also have bad people,” he added.
Procedure reversal 'shocking'
Ling said that he was shocked when he was prosecuted as the AGC only started gathering evidence after bringing him to court, not the other way round.
He said that former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad had told the court that he had not been cheated, as did other cabinet ministers who had testified.
“A police officer said that I would not have been prosecuted if the police had recorded Mahathir’s statement beforehand.
“When Mahathir said he had not been cheated, they should have dropped the case. But they didn’t. We had asked, but they didn’t,” he said.
Ling said that he had figure out why he was prosecuted and will pen a book titled ‘How low can you go?’, telling his side of the story and the episode of the trial.

I learned from National Geography that a group of wolfs has it's leader and a group of gorilla has it's leader too. How about a group of buaya ? N. Geography did not tell me. Anybody can tell me?

Leader with shrinking balls is as good as no leader. Leader must be able to lead and fight rather then being bullied. Leader must be able to say no to the big brothers rather then being a followers of the big brothers.

i admire a great leader like dr ling, look at one of his great works... set up UTAR for all, agreed that its cheap and quality uni. education , its a great contribution to all malaysian.

if dr ling thinks of self benefits or own pockets, he would have raise all fees at UTAR to more than double , on par ( fees wise) like many private u, if i am not mistaken there are 28000 students at UTAR and if is not a good u there wouldnt be so many students over there . once again malaysians should thank dr ling for the great works he has done-- set up UTAR , its already in history, thank you.

Ling is either corrupt or a dumb minister who gets cheated
Either way he was never a good Chinese leader
Even though not guilty but we have to ask why it has cost the country to lost few billion
Shouldn't "someone" be responsible ?

Since MCA is now obsolete , and not representative of the Chinese majority - its a very shameful party
Even dr ling - should be ashamed that he lost billions in the port klang project
All a sudden he want to come out as hero ?
But during his time at the office - he just kept quiet and kiss ass & enjoy the money
