MOU Sets Stage for Advanced Learning and Industry Growth in Renewable Sector


PETALING JAYA, 18 JANUARY 2024Samaiden Group Berhad ("Samaiden"), a renewable energy (“RE”) specialist principally involved in engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (“EPCC”) of solar photovoltaic (“PV”) systems and power plants today announced the signing of a pivotal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (“UTAR”). This partnership signifies a critical step towards integrating academic prowess with industry expertise, particularly in the field of renewable energy.

UTAR, recognised for its comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs, collaborates with Samaiden, specialists in renewable energy, operation, maintenance services, and environmental consultancy. This MOU establishes a collaborative framework aimed at enhancing educational and professional practices, benefiting students, faculty, and industry professionals alike.

The collaboration entails the exchange of ideas and facilities, including staff attachments and visits to enrich curriculum development and participation in industry-relevant activities. It also includes organising industrial study visits for UTAR students, mutual staff visits for professional development, and enhancing the learning experience. Furthermore, the partnership focuses on developing skill training and continuing education for industry personnel and providing career development opportunities for students, effectively bridging the gap between academia and the renewable energy sector.

President of Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman, Ir. Professor Dato' Dr. Ewe Hong Tat shared his excitement about the partnership: “This MOU with Samaiden is not just a partnership; it's a bridge connecting academic theory with industry practice, which is vital in the rapidly evolving field of renewable energy.
