Cervical cancer is the fourth most common cancer worldwide, killing 250,000 people yearly. This health burden can be removed, because we have a vaccine for the human papillomavirus that causes cervical cancer. Yet only three countries in Southeast Asia, Thailand, Malaysia and Laos, have implemented the vaccines. What obstacles stop the rest of our neighbours from implementing HPV vaccination?
