Malaysia Building Society Bhd's (MBSB) stock is suspended from trading today amidst speculation of the non-bank lender's proposed merger with Asian Finance Bank Bhd (AFB). A merger of the two entities, should it happen, would result in the creation of the country’s second-largest stand-alone Islamic bank after Bank Islam Malaysia Bhd.
