Ask Canada to produce their own gloves for USD200 per 1000 pieces. Then they can have all the nice and comfortable working environments.

Companies will improve staff welfare when they are in a better financial position. It is a process many companies have gone through. The same applies to a country. The developed countries are now criticising our labour practices, data handling, deforestation because of our palm oil etc while they enjoy low prices from our products. They have forgotten that they also had many dark sides in the past when they developed their countries. They demolished all their forests for developments and now want others to keep theirs.

We will see more this kind of reports in the future, they will make it hard for Asia to compete.

I think the main problem is those agent (Middleman).

1st, those worker have to pay very high agent fee in order to come to Malaysia to work. This agent fee is not taken or earn by Top Glove, it is something either to bribe the immigration department, human traffic transportation, middle man, local authorities.

2nd, Our glove company never cheat or overpromise the worker that they will work in nice air-conditioner place, live in a comfort hostel or wat. It is the agent who cheat those worker, those agent overpromise to attract those worker to sell land, sell property, borrow loan shark just to come to Malaysia, they though they come here to become a manager, end up become a factory labor.

Same to India, so many US company invested in India because of their cheap labour.

Why don't this Journalist go to setup a hidden camera in India factory, go to cam what happen in India.

How many factory girl being rapped, how many sexual harassments, how many worker worked 24 hours and end up no salary pay, how many corruption and bribe happen every day every minute, how the police bully the worker...etc.

I scare once they really go to investigate it, they will end up the whole Canada got no supply of goods, because all the thing they use is made from Asia.

Brought to the attention of the Canadian government - https://youtu.be/B2z6SZkRlvM?t=1183
On-camera interview with the Minister of Public Services and Procurement, Anita Anand - "I take this situation very seriously - forced labour is a significant and unacceptable problem in global supply chains and as soon as I was made aware of this issue I have asked my team to look into it"

what is the meaning of 'forced labour' ? I am sure all workers are paid. If you mean 'workers forced to do overtime', the whole economy will probably close down. I have seen my friends who leave their working place as late as 9.00 pm. But they never complain abt being forced to do OT.

Yes, many says that is normal work conditions of many other foreign workers.
That is true.
However for a multi billion company hiring foreign worker, it is sad that they treated their worker similar to other chinamen company treating theirs.
The company is making so much money and yet reluctant to spend a just 2% of the profit on the workers accommodations / living environment despite it making more and more money.
Hence it become a concern.
They may say they done alot of CSR, show that they pay off the worker well but reality is those workers are though foreign workers are also human.
They are being yes, given opportunity to OT until they scare to OT.
Stay in crowded areas with tens / twenty of people despite making so much money for TG until they are exposed to Covid-19.
So the workers though foreigner, though lowly paid still deserve a better lifestyle and not be taken advantage of by TG when TG is making so much more revenue from their effort.
