KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 12): Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Strateq Sdn Bhd to collaborate on exploring opportunities in information technology (IT), specifically big data and analytics.

The partnership aims to pursue projects in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), data governance and large-scale IT projects in both the public and private sectors, said DNex in a statement on Thursday.

It said that by leveraging on DNeX's experience in implementing digitalization projects, the collaboration seeks to expand the service offerings of DNeX's IT business unit.

DNeX's executive chairman Tan Sri Syed Zainal Abidin Syed Mohamed Tahir said: “With new capabilities and a strong partnership, we look forward to opportunities to offer big data and analytics as well as related services in the local and international markets.”

He said the synergy between the two companies will serve as a catalyst to accelerate the adoption of advanced digital technologies, effectively utilizing the digital capacities of both entities.

DNeX said it has a proven track record in IT, having successfully completed projects such as the Integrated Government Financial and Management Accounting System (iGFMAS) for the Ministry of Finance and the Hasil Integrated Taxation System (HITS) for the Inland Revenue Board.

Commenting on the partnership, Strateq Group managing director Datuk Tan Seng Kit said the company and DNeX will collaborate on strategizing the go-to-market approach for data and AI solutions. "Both organisations are to work on account mapping and develop project timelines for implementation as well as allocation of resources and sharing of data for clear communications flow and ownership," he said.

Strateq is a global technology enabler with expertise in various sectors, including healthcare, energy, utilities, financial services, and the public sector, offering end-to-end digital capabilities.
