Welcome to CK's Mergers & Acquisitions Theme Park - The BEST Has Yet to Come!
CK>> Share price of ENG was slumped for these two days. There is an announcement from ENG today as posted in Bursa. Here are the content:
We regret to announce that the Company's wholly-owned subsidiaries, Engtek (Thailand) Co., Ltd. ('ETCL') and Altum Precision Co., Ltd. ('APT'), both located at Ayutthaya, Thailand had temporarily shut down their operations due to severe flood condition in Ayutthaya, Thailand.
The Company and its management team are in the process of determining the extent of the damage which the management believes are adequately covered by its insurance policies. The management team is currently working out alternative plans to minimize disruptions to their customers.

The effect of this event on net assets and earnings of the Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2011 will depend on the amount of damages and the extent of its recovery.
CK>> So now, you should ask yourself some questions as below:
(1) What is the impact of the shutdown of this Thailand operation?
(2) What is the contribution of this Thailand division to the overall ENG's revenue and profit (for the FY2009 and FY2010)?
(3) Is it a big deal to close this Thailand division until flood issue cleared? How long are you expecting it to be cleared? If I'm not wrong, this flood has already last for almost 2 months @_@'''
(4) Will Dato Teh aborts his privatisation plan? Hard to say at this moment, but I personally think the chances are slim. Privatisation deal is for long term vision of companies, not really target for the short term.

Some of answer, you might able to find it in my following two diagram.

Diagram 1: ENG Organization Structure

Diagram 2: Segmental Financial Information (IMPORTANT)

CK>> Take a closed look on Diagram 2. What is the % of revenue & profit contribution from this Thailand subsidiaries? Haha, YES, don't get fainted. Let wait for the further announcement from ENG ya~ Let the big boss Dato Teh to give his position, yeah~
