COPENHAGEN - Swedish payments group Klarna must pay an administrative fine of 7.5 million Swedish crowns ($733,324) for violation of the EU's General Data Protection Regulation, a Swedish court of appeal ruled on Monday.
Klarna has, among other things, not given its clients sufficient information about how it would store their personal data, the court said in a statement, adding that the information was unclear or difficult to access.
The fine by Sweden's Administrative Court of Appeal was higher than the 6 million crowns penalty originally imposed by a lower court.
Klarna did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
