I was so relieved when I retired as an executive director of IJM Corporation Bhd about 35 years ago because I did not have to deal with people. I found dealing with people was most challenging because people can change their minds so easily and frequently. Moreover, they always doubt your sincerity.

Let me give you an example. I had 2 account clerks with the same educational qualification. I increased the pay of one girl more than the other because she was more diligent and efficient. The one with less pay told the whole office that I favoured that girl because she was more beautiful.

Let me relate the episode of Thomas who was one of the 12 disciples or apostles of Jesus Christ according to the Christian Bible. Jesus was crucified died and buried. He rose from death after 3 days and appeared to some of the disciples. But Thomas was not with them the first time. The other disciples told him, 'We have seen the Lord!' But Thomas said to them, 'Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his stab wound at his side, I will not believe it.'

Eight days later, Jesus appears before His disciples again and said, 'Peace be with you!' Then he said to Thomas, 'Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.' Thomas said to him, 'My Lord and my God!' Then Jesus told him, 'Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed'.

The important point of my article

My purpose for writing this article is to point out that it is human nature to doubt. Just like in I3investor forum, a lot of people doubt my sincerity. I am quite wealthy and I do not need to underhand tricks to cheap small little investors to make more money.

For example, I posted my article “Dayang will fly on Monday” to encourage people to buy to make money. Many commentators said they should not buy because I wanted to sell.

When I say buy, they would say sell. When I say sell, they would say buy.

As I am writing, currently at 9.45 am Monday, the price of Dayang went up 21.5 sen or 27% from 79.5 to Rm 1.03 with 75 million share changed hands after 45 minutes of trading. You must realise that whether you, small little investors buy or sell, it will not make any difference.

Those believers are laughing to the Bank.
