My purpose of writing this piece is to explain my mistake of encouraging my readers to buy Genetec when I wrote in my last article namely “Genetec Technology is a hidden gem”. In my article I wrote the following:
Genetec is undervalued:
Today the last traded price for Genetec is Rm 2.55 per share. Its latest quarter EPS was 35.83 sen for the quarter ending December. Its EPS was 32,25 sen for its previous quarter ending Sept.
If you based of the latest EPS of 35.83 sen X 4 quarters = Rm 1.43 and PE = Rm 2.55 ÷ 1.43 = 1.8 which is very cheap.
Now I realise that the company gave 12 bonus shares to every one share held by shareholder and X date for bonus was 10 January.
That means if you consider the additional bonus shares the current share price is not so cheap.
I have withdrawn my article from posting and also have informed all the people on my contact list about my mistake.

Everyone make a mistake. Admit the mistake and realign the position is a good habit.
I think everyone can give comment on a free community. Whoever make the investment decision should be accountable to his own action.
I hope my fellow shareholders not buying in our company by using 35.83cent as latest EPS. If anyone make this mistake, they can be informed and take this chance to sell down their stake.
Shareholders need to understand the company fundamental and its prospect to make an intelligent & informed decision.
A great business at a fair price is superior to a fair business at a great price.

remember Calvin warned about Green packet when you chased it to Rm1.60?
Gpacket has crashed by 90% now

Again Mmag crashed by 90%
As for Genetec it smells like Vivocom. Vivocom people went and did M&A after more M&A to promote the share rather doing real business
In the end many lost in Vivocom when it crashed
This Genetec if so good where got so much time promoting the stock in cyberspace ?
If really so good there is not enough time even to eat food
Genetec is a very high risk stock with high receivables (iou) and huge borrowings
it has little cash
Better don't touch this Genetec or later get burnt KAW KAW

Your title is misleading. There wasn't any trap by Genetec. You just didn't (intentionally or not) do a proper analysis before you wrote. Pity those who follow your blog and bought

Better sell Genetec and switch to palm oil shares now
Shares like Bplant, HS Plant and Tsh Resources are now overflowing in My Cash and will declare excellent profits next month in May 2022 plus Good Dividends can be expected
Better go for Palm oil shares doing cash business collecting real cash rather than Genetec selling for receivables (iou) with high borrowings and later might end up asking for shareholders money by Rights Issues like insolvent Yinson
