Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has received approval from the Energy Commission (EC) to implement the Hydro Life Extension Programme for six stations in Sungai Perak Power Stations (SSJ Sungai Perak) with an investment of RM5.8bil commencing this year. In a filing with Bursa Malaysia, TNB said its wholly owned subsidiary, TNB Power Generation Sdn Bhd (TNB Genco) had received approval from EC. Digi.com Bhd posted a net profit of RM264.48mil in the third quarter ended Sept 30 (3Q), down 15.45% from RM312.81mil in the same quarter a year earlier. The telco’s revenue declined 3.3% to RM1.53bil from RM1.58bil a year prior while earnings per share fell to 3.40 sen against 4.02 sen previously. Axis Real Estate Investment Trust (Axis REIT) shares traded marginally higher in early trade Thursday after reporting earnings that were in line with analysts’ expectations. The counter climbed one sen, or 0.54% to RM1.85. Year-to-date, it has fallen 2.12%. Axis REIT’s net property income (NPI) in the third quarter ended Sept 30, 2022 (3Q22), rose 12.54% to RM61.49mil from RM54.64mil last year. (TheStar)

Berjaya Corp Bhd (BCorp) is voluntarily deregistering its Hong Kong-based 100%-owned dormant subsidiaries eCosway.com (HK) Ltd and Tact Full Ltd pursuant to Section 750 of the Hong Kong Companies Ordinance. In a Bursa Malaysia filing on Wednesday (Oct 19), diversified group BCorp said the proposed deregistration of eCosway.com and Tact Full is subject to approvals from the Hong Kong Inland Revenue Department for tax clearance and Hong Kong Companies Registry. 7-Eleven Malaysia Holdings Bhd's share price jumped to a record high on Thursday (Oct 20), after rising eight sen or 4.21% to RM1.98, following the resumption of its share buy-back, after an 18-month pause since April 2021. Filings with Bursa Malaysia showed that the convenience store operator, which resumed the exercise on Oct 7, undertook its latest transaction on Wednesday for a cumulative buy-back of 2.38 million shares following several daily transactions. Rohas Tecnic Bhd said its unit is seeking to refer a dispute with the Power Grid Company of Bangladesh Ltd, relating to the supply of a transmission line in that country, to arbitration. The subsidiary, HG Power Transmission Sdn Bhd, was engaged as contractor for the supply and installation of the transmission line under a contract concerning rural electrification in Bangladesh. Capital A’s Muslim-friendly travel and lifestyle platform, Ikhlas, plans to tap the Indonesian market next year by expanding its umrah and halal travel packages. Ikhlas chief executive officer Ikhlas Kamarudin said the company foresees huge demand in Indonesia, and expects to launch its product there by early May 2023.
