Toyo Ventures Holdings Bhd has been issued an unusual market activity (UMA) query by Bursa Malaysia Securities Bhd following the sharp rise in the price and volume of its shares recently. Infomina Bhd’s subsidiary Infomina (Thailand) Co Ltd (Infomina TH), has received a purchase agreement from The Siam Commercial Bank Public Company Ltd (SCB) to provide upgrade and transformation solutions to SCB’s core banking applications for US$28.44 million (RM125.14 million). In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, Infomina said the agreement was for the provision of technology application and infrastructure operations, maintenance and support services as well as to provide solutions to improve and implement SCBX Group Application Programming Interface gateway. Kenanga Research believes Boilermech Holdings Bhd is strengthening its position in the renewable energy industry by taking full ownership of Tera VA Sdn Bhd. In a note on Tuesday (Dec 27), the research house cited that Boilermech is buying out the remaining 35% stake in Tera for RM8.2 million cash, translating into a price-earnings ratio (PER) of about nine times for the financial year ending March 31, 2023 (FY2023), based on its forecast. CGS-CIMB Research is optimistic about Mynews Holdings Bhd’s turnaround prospects for the financial year ending Oct 31, 2023 (FY2023), citing improvement in store productivity and waste control as key takeaways from the company’s results briefing for analysts for the fourth quarter ended Oct 31, 2022 (4QFY2022) recently. The research house expects Mynews to turn profitable in FY2023 on prudent store expansion, a better product mix, food processing centre (FPC) turnaround, and new product launches. It upgraded its call on the stock to" add" from "hold", with a higher target price (TP) of 83 sen, implying a 33.7 times calendar year 2024 price-earnings. (TheEdge)

Wellspire Holdings Bhd, which is involved in the distribution of consumer-packaged foods in Thailand, has set its initial public offering (IPO) price at 23 sen per share. Petroliam Nasional Bhd (Petronas) has reached the final investment decision (FID) for a near-shore liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility in Sabah.
