British Virgin Islands and Cayman Islands are the popular destinations.

Guys, the pants and belts you might have been wearing is from the locally home grown menswear company.John Master Industries Bhd (JMI) that were sewn from their main factory head office in Taman Shamelin as well as in Kepong Industrial area.

Those days when I first visited these factories, there were lots of sweet young village girls in front of nearly 300 sewing machines busily earning their livings.Unfortunately the company has demised in early 2010.I just don't understand why closed and yet  being a subsidiary of Sinotop operating as a wholesaler at their office in Taman Industri Pusat Bandar Puchong.

Today our garment industry is a sunset industry uncompetitive with our ASEAN neighbours like Thailand,Cambodia,Vietnam,Indonesia and the new upcoming dragon,Myanmar.

The sewing girls you are going to see around the main garment hub around Pudu/San Peng/Kepong Ind  area are being replaced by the Banglasia.

JMI sold the entire business lock stock and barrel towards the end of December 2009 via open tender. The company was thereby delisted because the shares were illiquid mainly due to the small paid up and  held by the main shareholder. So what they did was injected Be Top Group registered in the British Virgin Islands,an offshore company with her subsidiary Namely Top Textile (Suzhou) Co,.Ltd into JMI.

After that they call a renounceable rights issue of 307,082,550 new ordinary shares of 0.20 cents, basis 10 rights :1 shares held..

So they took off their old fashioned pants and discarded it under the guise of lack of liquidity and thereforth change the company's name to SINOTOP BERHAD.

Unfortunately most investors got caught in this counter between the price of 0.20 -0.50 cts upon the ex rights price after the game changer and got bled till today. At time of writing  the stock price is just a meagre 0.07 cents.

The company does not manufacture diapers unlike Anakku Berhad (now Perak Corp).

What to do,the market played on the CHINA THEME at that time,so investors always be alert on the tricks of the stock market!!!

Be aware those that use offshore companies that disguise as foreign investors.

Tai Wah Garments Manufacturing Berhad in Segamat, has closed to 1,000 sewing girls and they have been nagging about late salary payment. Finally the company went into PN4 and was rescued by white knight  and the company change name to Tradewinds Bhd
