Scope of Southeast Asia – Malaysia, Indonesia to Lead in Oil and Gas Production

Key projects in Southeast Asia are expected to contribute about 223 thousand barrels of oil per day (mbd) to global crude production and about 8.1 billion cubic feet per day (bcfd) to global gas production in 2025.

The region has a total of 54 key crude oil and natural gas projects expected to start operations in six countries by 2025. Indonesia will lead with the highest number of planned and announced projects, followed by Malaysia and Vietnam, based on a market research published by Instanews247.

Among key operators are SapuraKencana Energy Sarawak, PETRONAS Carigali Sdn Bhd and Eni SpA that lead in terms of operatorship of planned and announced projects.
