Chaos in Vietnam

 

At a quick glance, the following Malaysian companies with business operations in Vietnam may be affected. The degree of damage depends on their respective involvement over there.

  • Malaysian banks with banking presence over there are Maybank, Hong Leong Bank and Public Bank, whereas RHB and CIMB only focus on stock broking business.
  • Furniture manufacturers (as shown in article) are Latitude Tree and Poh Huat.
  • Property developers are Gamuda, Berjaya Land, Ireka and SP Setia.
  • Hospitality and retail stores such as Parkson and Sunway
  • Others involved over there are Malayan Flour, Petronas Dagangan and UMW via its equipment unit.
  • Airline such as MAS might also reduce flights to/from Vietnam following the incident.
