Alibaba Group Holding Ltd (9988.HK)

Cainiao Network, the logistics arm of Chinese tech heavyweight Alibaba Group Holding Ltd, has rolled out its half-day express delivery service in Beijing before the upcoming Singles Day shopping carnival, as part of its broader push to boost the logistics and delivery efficiency.

The service was launched in collaboration with Tmall Supermarket. Cainiao pledged to deliver orders in the afternoon when a consumer places an order before noon, while an order made before midnight will be delivered before noon of the next day. Currently, the half-day express delivery service has been expanded to 20 cities such as Hangzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Guangzhou and Shenzhen across the country.

Anta Sports Products Ltd (2020.HK)

Anta Sports Products Ltd announced it has acquired 75.13% shares from the Shanghai-based, female-focused sportswear producer Maia Active, to bank on the emerging women sportswear market in China. The Yoga-inspired sportswear brand was founded in 2016 and has been often considered as the Chinese answer to Lululemon.

Anta Group said in the announcement that Maia Active's business has a certain market influence among female consumers, especially in the yoga sports category and has potential for future growth. The group's brand capacity in operation, retail and supply chain can help Maia Active better develop its competitive advantage in the Chinese market, said the group.

CNOOC Ltd (883.HK)

CNOOC and KazMunayGas (Kazakhstan State Oil and Gas Corporation) signed an MOU on strategic cooperation, under which the two parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in the areas of oil and gas exploration and development and oilfield services, and to establish a mechanism and platform for further comprehensive cooperation.

CNOOC said that on the 10th anniversary of the "One Belt, One Road" initiative (BRI), the signing of this MOU signifies a substantial deepening of the partnership with KazMunayGas. CNOOC possess overseas operations in more than 40 countries and regions around the world, with over 50% of its net production in the BRI, and has invested more than US$52bn along the BRI route.

Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd (175.HK)

Geely Automobile Holdings Limited (Geely Automobile) saw its September auto sales surge 31% YoY, to 170,472 vehicles, according to the company’s announcement. The company’s 9M2023 sales summed up to 1,155,278 vehicles, up 17% YoY.

New energy vehicle (NEV) segment boasted prominent sales figures, which came in at 53,692 vehicles (including battery-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles), leaping 36.88% YoY. NEVs accounted for about 31.5% of the group’s total sales volume in the last month. As to performance the individual brands, the GEELY brand sold 133,043 vehicles last month, representing a 31% jump YoY. Among which, 13,080 units were contributed by the NEV dedicated Galaxy range.

Xiaomi Corp-Class B (1810.HK)

Xiaomi Corp. has held talks with established automakers on potential production partnerships, as it waits for Beijing to approve a license that would give it the right to manufacture electric cars itself.

The Chinese smartphone giant, which has ambitions of becoming a producer of its own brand of electric vehicles, has engaged with several carmakers including Brilliance Auto Group Holdings Co. and Chery Automobile Co., the people said, asked not to be identified because the discussions are private. Xiaomi has also held talks with Beijing Automotive Group Co. on potential collaboration around producing EVs.
