Guan Eng: Dr M told me not to say anymore on ECRL... for now

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 29 ― Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng declined to answer any question surrounding the China-backed East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project, saying he had been told not to issue any public remark for the time being.

He said that Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad instructed him earlier this morning to refrain from speaking on the project until an official announcement is made.

“I met with Dr M this morning and he advised me not to issue any statements for the time being,” he told reporters when asked to clarify whether or not the 688km rail project was still suspended or had been terminated.

Lim called for patience until the official announcement is made.

“So please wait for the statement when we are ready to go.”

All because of these...ECRL is not initiated by old horse...it is opponent's project eventhough good also scrapped.....never consider livelihood of Malaysians... too much personal interest...selfish and retaliatory...

@Goh get your facts right. When Azmin say cancelled, LGE said not cancelled. Both contradicted each other. LGE not smart, coz he simply talk kok! Then Tun have to step in say dont know whether cancelled. Then now Tun say both Azmin & LGE correct. How can both Azmin & LGE be correct.... it's like saying: a dog has 4 legs is correct but a dog has 2 legs is also correct. WTF!

Agreed backstab your founder is truely not a good guy. He should be on the same boat as TDM. I guess the decision by him is also TDM's decision/idea. From what I observed, the whole issue lied with TDM and I guess he is the only one who don't want the ECRL to go on as this will involves a lot of money resources and affect his other agenda, eg. cars.
