Be ready for surge in healthcare capacity, says Khair

KUALA LUMPUR: Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin today said the National Table Top Exercise was conducted over the past few days to prepare for a surge in healthcare capacity after the national Covid-19 infectivity rate, Rt, rose above 1.0.
In a tweet, he had asked his Ministry and other agencies to game out worst case scenarios and simulate crisis responses for any eventuality.
"We must be ready for a surge in our healthcare capacity. Rt at 1.05."
Rt has been on the rise starting Nov 6 and returned to 1.0 on Nov 11, five weeks after the government lifted the ban on interstate travel.
The national Rt stood at 1.05 for the second consecutive day on Sunday.
