KOTA BARU: Pas still does not regard Barisan Nasional (BN) as its enemy, despite not working together in the 15th General Election (GE15).
Pas secretary-general, Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan, said Pas and BN share a common enemy, namely Pakatan Harapan (PN).
"We are now enemies. But this is how democracy works, in which we are playing on a level field.
"It's okay if some areas are won by BN, as long as they do not fall to PH. We are not enemies (with BN), as we uphold the concept of unity of the 'ummah'.
Under this concept, even though we aren't friends, we're certainly not enemies," he told reporters after a meet-the-press session in Kelantan today.
Meanwhile, he said 10 the 14 Pas candidates in Kelantan for GE15 will be defending the parliamentary seats they previously held.
Takiyuddin said the 10 include party president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
He, however, declined to disclose the identities of the others and urged the media to wait for further announcements.
Takiyuddin, who is former Kota Baru MP, said Kelantan Pas won 18 parliamentary constituencies in the 14th General Election (GE14).
"For GE15, we decided against changing the candidates in 10 of the 14 constituencies as we are confident that they can win.
"Perikatan Nasional is also confident of snapping up all 14 parliamentary seats in the state as we have good track record in Kelantan," he added.
