KUALA LUMPUR: MY E.G. Services Bhd's immigration concession service to renew foreign worker's permit has not been suspended since February of this year.

MyEG yesterday clarified, in a filing with Bursa Malaysia Securities, that the company's concession service with the government remains intact, amid allegations that its been suspended since February 2023.

"MyEG strictly adheres to all the terms and conditions stipulated by the government of Malaysia in relation to the provision of services, and accordingly, the collection of fees for foreign workers' permit renewal services is not being performed illegally. "

"Furthermore, we wish to clarify that it is MyEG's policy that in the event of services being unsuccessfully rendered, any sums collected would be refunded upon the request of customers," the company said in its filing with the bourse.

This is the company's second announcement on the matter this week.

On Wednesday, the company denied misrepresenting the services its offers online but stopped short of mentioning the status of its concession with the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

MyEG has been in the news following allegations by a member of parliament (MP) that the company was illegally collecting fees for renewal of foreign workers' permit, despite having its services suspended by the Immigration Department since February 2023.

The Kota Melaka MP Khoo Poay Tiong also alleged that the company was not refunding fees paid despite the failure to issue permits.

The company's share price closed unchanged at 78.5 sen a share yesterday.
