KUALA LUMPUR: Economy Minister Rafizi Ramli dismissed the accusation that the Central Database Hub (Padu) system was developed with third parties, asserting that it was carried out entirely by civil servants.
"I take note of the social media statement by BFM89.9 radio station regarding Accio Technologies chief executive officer, Dr Cher Han Lau claiming that his company was part of the Padu development process.
"After verification with the team at the Department of Statistics Malaysia (DOSM), I can confirm that Dr Cher's claims are untrue," Rafizi said in a statement today.
He said the Padu analytics team had invited Dr Cher solely for upskilling in data science based on his capabilities in big data and machine learning.
"The development process and data collection or cleansing for Padu did not involve him or anyone from his company.
"I want to reiterate that Padu was exclusively developed by civil servants without the participation of any third parties," he said.
