KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) reached a record high of RM9.38 today, spurred by the announcement of the new passenger service charge (PSC) effective June 1, 2024.

By 12:30 pm, the share price had risen by 4.22 per cent or 38 sen compared to yesterday's closing price of RM9, resulting in the company's market capitalisation reaching RM15.7 billion.

On March 12, the Malaysian Aviation Commission (Mavcom) revealed that starting June 1, passengers connecting flights at most Malaysian airports will incur a passenger service charge (PSC) of RM7 for domestic flights and up to RM42 for international flights.

The commission specified that domestic travellers transferring flights at most Malaysian airports will face a RM7 charge, while those transferring flights at Senai International Airport will incur a RM10 charge.

International travellers transferring flights will pay RM42 at KLIA 1 and RM29 for KLIA 2 and all other airports.

PSC for international travellers were standardised to RM73 for KLIA 1, and RM50 for KLIA 2 and all other airports.

Domestic travellers' PSC remained at RM11 for all airports except Senai International Airport, which will be raised to RM16.
