PETALING JAYA: The water supply has been restored to 14.3% of areas affected by the water disruption caused by odour pollution, says Air Selangor.

Air Selangor said in a statement on its social media pages this is as of 9am on Wednesday (July 24).

It added that the water supply recovery in affected areas is expected to reach 40% by 8am on Thursday (July 25) and 90% by 8pm on the same day.

On the recovery, Air Selangor said that the public should not be alarmed if the water is not clear like normal as this is a normal occurrence after a water cut.

It added that those who are experiencing murky water should leave their taps running for ten minutes to clear out any sediment.

The water cut began on Tuesday (July 23) due to odour pollution affecting two rivers, which in turn impacted four water plants.

The four water treatment plants affected by the Sungai Kundang and Sungai Sembah odour pollution are Rantau Panjang, Sungai Selangor Phase 1 (SSP1), Sungai Selangor Phase 2 (SSP2), and Sungai Selangor Phase 3 (SSP3).

Consumers can obtain information on this water supply disruption from time to time through https://waterupdates.airselangor.com/ or the Air Selangor application, Facebook, Instagram and X or by calling Air Selangor’s Call Centre at 15300.
