KUALA LUMPUR: The Health Ministry has instructed an ice cream chain to halt the sale of a food item laced with cough syrup.
In a statement today, it said the sales of such products was a serious violation of Section 13B(2) of the Food Act 1983, which forbade the preparation or selling of food items mixed with medicine registered under the ministry.
It added that if found guilty, the chain could be fined RM20,000 or face imprisonment not more than five years, or both.
