GUA MUSANG: The Madani government is always committed to helping the people, not just during the election season, said Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

The deputy prime minister and rural and regional development minister said the government led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is not a seasonal government.

"The Madani government has been doing a lot of things to help the people here and we will provide services all the time, not only during elections.

"I have been coming to Gua Musang regularly, even when it's not the election season," he said before a groundbreaking in Kuala Betis today.

Zahid said the government's commitment to helping the people can be proven when it approved RM11.55 billion for development projects this year.

"Although our country has debt, but praise be to God, the Madani government under Anwar managed to address this issue and distribute the allocation, according to needs.

"The allocation is also used for today's RM190 million alignment project connecting five rural roads in Kuala Betis and assistance to the Orang Asli children."

Zahid said although he and the prime minister are from different parties, they still work together for the sake of the people.

"If this cannot be done, people will become the victims. We don't want the people to be cheated for political purposes," he added.

For this, he said the people, especially those in Nenggiri, need to support the Madani government and Barisan Nasional.

"Our candidate for upcoming Nenggiri by-election, Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani, was selected by Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, who Nenggiri BN election director.

"Azmawi will be the third BN representative in Kelantan if he wins the by-election. So, it is important for him to win the state seat," he added.
