GUA MUSANG: Barisan Nasional candidate Mohd Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani is confident his two weeks of meeting constituents and leveraging social media platforms extensively to reach and engage voters were effective.

The 38-year-old Kelantan Umno Youth chief said the two approaches, that he has made since Aug 3, have helped him to reach out to more voters.

"Social media has been instrumental in reaching voters in the Nenggiri state constituency, particularly the youth. Apart from that meeting voters personally at all levels has helped me in the campaigning.

"Today is the last day of the campaigning and l will do my best until the campaign ends at midnight," he said.

Azmawi, fondly known as Awi, said he had visited all the 20 polling centres in the constituency.

"Now it is time for me to make the second and third round visits," he said.

The father of three also said his political journey on social media had assisted him in the campaign work.

"I have been active on social media since 2018, and most of the young voters here are familiar with my work. With young voters making up 61 per cent of the electorate, social media is crucial for connecting with them," he said.

Tomorrow's Nenggiri by-election sees a straight fight between Azmawi, who is representing the unity government, and Mohd Rizwadi Ismail representing Perikatan Nasional using the Pas logo.
